James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
It seems that Toney has weighed in at 199 pounds! How gobsmacking is that! Toney has come to fight and I am so excited!
Where is my JFAT alliance crew? Let's fucking have it!

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Looking at Toney here it astonishes me how he has gone to heavyweight and dealt with everyone except Peter the second time out. He even looks small here compared to Lebedev and I didn't really expect that.
As the biggest Toney fan here, I will admit that I am quite nervous. His skills are brilliant, but we really don't know how well the artistry can keep its hold over the physical form. It's weird to see him so 'thin'.
All I can do is hope and it would make my year to see Toney roll back the clock and make this guy look ordinary.
Go Toney!

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
No, he looks good, but is he strong? That's my big question.
None of us truly knows. We have no recent form, no recent weight guide.
It's a true unknown. 43 and doing this? Crazy land territory, but I have faith in James Toney above all other fighters.

Go Toney!
I thought he lost to Oquendo too. Toney was a natural middleweight or super middleweight. I rate Lebedev higher than Green at cruiserweight so I'll give Toney more credit if he beats Lebedev than I gave Tarver beating Green.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
It's hard to see what Toney looks like in the video, but it appears he's in the best shape he's been in, in years. During the face down it looked like Toney was talking to Lebedev, here's what I think he was sayin':
"After I kick yo mo-fokin' ass, i'm gonna whip yo mama's mo-fokin' ass."

No, I thought Oquendo was beaten by Toney and I also thought Toney beat Rahman again too.
I find it impossible to compare between any of these weights. But if Toney can somehow fuck this dude up bad, he is still relevant. And I would leave it at that.
I just want to see Toney come back and look good doing so.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Still hard to believe that Toneys gotten down to cruiser again...

I hope and think Toney destroys this bum for what he did to a washed up RJJ

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Toney is 5/1 with Hills. I can't believe that! Just had £20 on him!!

This is an opinion I've heard before and I somewhat agree with.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Toney has gone back in a time machine or taken some drugs. Hope he wins though.
-
re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Miles you realize I am with the JFAT alliance. Hell ya.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Look I like Toney, but he's washed up and punch drunk. It's time to call it quits.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
These is what throwback fighters do.. Lights out mofuckas!!!
-
re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Toney may of lost alot of weight and credit to him but he's waited for to long to finally get down.
Now he's old and past it and losing that much weight at once might come back to haunt him in the ring.
-
re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Watching yourself roll around and embarrass yourself will do that to a guy. I like Toney bookoo but what he did here is get in shape and give himself the best chance of looking top calibur...some guys never left that in the first place. Its what ya expect of the greats.

In the prediction contest I've picked lebedev UD... Is this weight loss a good or a bad thing for Toney? Is this fight 10 or 12 rounds??
-
re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
I don't think its like a Chris Byrd thing. That was just unhealthy looking because he wasn't fat to begin with. Toney was fat. But he's still most likely shot (his speech is horrible these days). Regardless, I'll be rooting him on.

It's 12 rounds, for the vacant WBA interim cruiserweight title, the fight comes on Friday night, Moscow time, maybe someone can find a stream.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
I thought the 5/1 odds were an exaggeration but checked and William Hill have him at that. That amazes me. It's the same odds they give Steiglitz to upset Kessler and actually far wider than Ricky Burns to beat Katsidis???
Do the experts really think Kessler and Katsidis are more likely to lose than Lebedev, who has beaten who exactly?
Lebedev is one ugly lantern jawed dude with a face like an anvil. It's not going to be difficult for a master crafstman like Toney to target that massive chin.
I think he will carry more power at this weight.
I fancy a 20 quid accumulator on Groves, Toney, Kessler and Katsidis....

Yeah, the odds are a stunner. I had always seen it as a pick 'em with me obviously leaning towards Toney. But no, he is seemingly the flat out big odds underdog.
Come on Toney! JFAT alliance for life! Go and instigate a new cold war by butchering this guy!

I'd say it's a pick em too, and thats only bcause we haven't seen Toney in a real Boxing match for a long time and we don't know how he'll react to the weight loss. If he returns to the division as half the man he left it he'll destroy this pretender.

Cheers for that, I have no idea if Toney is going to adapt to the weight and in the past when people have lost a significant amount of weight like this it's a miracle to see but they dont perform like they wanted to. I think with Toney being a lot older now and not looking too good of late I just have a feeling he might not be able to adjust over 12 rounds. Think lebedev might take a close fight over 12 rounds. I would love it if Toney rolled back the years and put on a performance though...we shall see.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Toney was 13/2 last week and has steadily been backed. I actually went to see what odds Toney was to get stopped, then couldn't believe he was a 13/2 shot just to win. That completely reversed my thinking on this fight. Roy Jones had it quite close on two of the judges cards last time.
Toney wont stop him and will struggle to get a PTS win in Russia but is still worth a bet at those odds. The draw at 33/1 is worth a saver.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
I think we are seeing way to many old fighter's, in the game some one's going to get hurt and that's all we need.?

Check out the Huck v. Lebedev fight. Lebedev gives a good account of himself there.

The best bet I saw this weekend is the Kastidis by KO props bet on 5 dimes. It was almost even at -116 if I recall correctly.

I'm not sure about American odds (normally have to look up the fractional conversion but can't be bothered).
Katsidis is generally evens (1/1) to win by stoppage. I'm not sure it's a great bet though. I wouldn't be surprised if Burns fiddled his way to the finish. He could win it if he does.
Also, even though Burns is a powderpuff puncher, Katsidis face marks/busts up. 4/5 for the fight to not go the distance might be a better bet.

I saw the fight starts between 5 and 6 uk time.
Boxrec has only the first result listed at the moment. Still a few 10 rounders to go

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
It'll be a while yet as the under card needs to be completed first, but hopefully not too late as I have started drinking. I don't want to be too drunk before the main event.

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
Boxnation broadcast is between 3pm and 7.30pm if thats any help. To me that looks like Toney would start about 6pm.
16/1 for Toney to win on PTS at Sportingbet :o

WOW. Toney will win this fight people! I wouldn't be surprised by a late stoppage either. I'm sticking to my £25 on him just to win though!

Nice, Fenster! It's the opposite for me. I can't understand your damn fractional system. I need a good article to explain it to me. My thought was Burns was coming up in weight and Kastidis can punch. I also like his record in your country :foruml10gc5::britain:

re: James Toney is back! Toney/Lebedev live!
That Jirov fight was fantastic. Toney was inspired that night. I'm not expecting anything like that, but echoes of that would be great and should be enough to win.
I see the second undercard bout is done. Two more 10 rounders to go.
