I meant foot stopper. Lol
Caught you trollin again..
PSL, did you graduate middle school?
I've seen Judah do that to Corley. Mayweather do that to Judah and W.Klitschko do that to Chris Byrd. I'm sure there a hundreds of thousands of other examples though.
it's a fucking southpaw fighting an orthodox fighter, it's not the first or last time that it happens when both guys are try to get a dominate footing position on the same side, PSL learn a little about boxing before you cry wolf
Trolling thread from someone on a damage limitation exercise.
Manny was outboxed something silly.
So you guys are saying that it's not unusual for a boxer to step on an opponent's foot 7 times in a single fight. Maybe you can back that up with something as concrete because I tried to google it and didn't find any.
Anyway, if you look from were Marquez foot came from prior to stepping on Pacquiao's foot, it appears that the trajectory is intended. But most of us who commented so far are bias so let's just leave it to those unbias for their interpretation.
Why is it that PSL only comments or starts threads about pac or talking shit about pac opponents? Your almighty Pac got out boxed, fucking live with it!!
funny to see that Marquez is the one who gets fucked over by the judges again, and yet Pacquiao fan's are still trying to make Manny not only the winner but the victim of something that happens regularly in fights between southpaws and orthodox fighters
It's a weak trolling job by a middle school drop out.. :D sooo unimaginative..
For me, I can put it this way..
Marquez stepping on pac's foot as he leads to launch a punch AND getting away with it seven times is as laughable as pac winning the fight in the end. That even's up everything.
It might confuse you, but I still stand with my previous claim that Marquez indeed won the fight, that pac has nothing to do with the scorecards (thus calling him a cheat is way off), that Marquez and pac had a very entertaining fight.
Pac never cheated in that fight, he never resorts to dirty tactics, Im not saying Marquez did something dirty. If anyone can convince me that stepping on another fighter's foot is legally accepted in boxing, then I will continue to think that marquez won the fight convincingly.
wow...........
I thought it was common for an Orthadox and southpaw fighter to get their feet caught up occasionally.
Guess not......... Marquez is a dirty fighter, he should be banned and PAcquiao WON !!!
SMFH.
Ohhh come on...
You guys serious with this?
So now it turns out JMM cheated...???
So if that's the case then Pac intentionally spit out his mouth piece to waste time since he was tired.
Someone went thru all that trouble to take snap shots of something we already know happens when an Ortho and a Southy fight...
Has anyone of the people who claim this to be intentional ever boxed/sparred or maybe even played Punch Out?
He done it in the 2nd fight too, claiming JMM went down twice in the fight. He's a wind up merchant and this is a ridiculous thread. It's common knowledge Southpaw vs Orthodox fighters always step on eachother's feet and clash heads.
It's all about who can step around the lead foot, and get there punches off. Which is exactly what JMM did and that's exactly the basic's your taught for facing a Southpaw, like circling clockwise for example.
Point of the matter is that the acts of marquez can be a natural occurrence in a fight between ortho-Southpaw which also, can intentionally be used as a tactic - a dirty one so to speak.
Its like saying Headbutts happen occasionally in a fight when two fighter tend to lean forward as they launch their punches. But headbutts can be used as a (dirty) tactics when used intentionally. In fact, you will get a point deduction when you keep on doing that, worse - DQ.
Just because its a natural thing to happen doesnt mean we should overlook it and considered the matter as "validly acceptable".
It has been confirmed that Marquez is intentionally stepping on Pacquiao's foot to gain advantage in the fight.

:jester-new:
My God, you guys are indeed taking it seriously. It was intended for the Pachaters who had accused Pac to be a drug user without evidence. Geez ......
I would say I havent seen him fought dirty to anybody. I havent seen marquez resort to dirty tactics prior to his 3rd fight with pac. I acknowledge marquez for being so in his past few fights. But that could spark a startling revelation...
You see, in their previous 2 fights alone, Marquez was not caught more than 2-3 times stepping on pac's foot.. It was on their 3rd fight that he stepped pac's foot 7 times and almost stepped into pac's foot more than 10 occasions.. Why oh why would marquez suddenly stepping into manny's foot in their 3rd fight then? Natural occurrence perhaps. Like rain in Sahara.
On pac's side, all his 4 previous fights were against an Orthodox fighter, but I have no recollection (execpt Clottey fight -- wherein Buboy is telling Manny to watch his feet.) that those four stepped into pac's foot by almost 7 times.
Again, I maintained my stand that Marquez won the fight. But these things should not be overlooked. Manny fought a great fight with the guy, but his deeds on the righ were overlooked simply because 2 judges scored it awfully -- that wasnt even his fault yet he is paying for it direly.
Dench, are you out of your mind?
I cannot believe that you have put paragraphs together in order to argue that. It happens when you get an orthodox fighter and a southpaw together. They trip up quite frequently.
Now to even insinuate that it was an intentional strategy is ludicrous.
Miles, last time I checked I still have my mind intact to where it was it was before.
I'm simply stating the facts as I answer Cutmemick's post, and I may sound like a person insinuating that marquez fought dirty, but that is simply because the facts lead me to a realization to that effect.
You are all right to suggest that southpaw and orthodox fighter frequently stepped each others foot in a fight, but I dont see them happening like always in match. Just recently, ortiz and floyd never had an instance like this in 3 rounds. And Pac vs 4 other ortho fighters had minimal cases of such too. But in marquez fight, it happened 7 times (caught on pics/tape) and "almost happened" for like 10 more times. Yet we never heard pac/roach complaining about it. Maybe they accept the fact that it was accidental.
intentional or not, that dont really matter now. Pac won the cards, but to me he lost. I just can let this get overlooked by people who thinks manny deserves nothing but hatred by winning a fight he gallantly fought.
No one is bad mouthing Pac they are speaking of the decision. You are all caught up in your nice writing ability and clouded . You just owned yourself by saying you need to defend Pac . So it is your emotion and not logic speaking. QUOTE=Dench;1026508]Miles, last time I checked I still have my mind intact to where it was it was before.

Absolutely astonishing. Honestly, my mind is being blown by some of the things I am hearing in the wake of this fight. So now we have to consider that Marquez wasn't accidentally getting tangled with Manny. As if Marquez is going to have the idea of stamping on Manny's feet on his mind whilst Manny is motoring in at a hundred miles an hour. He would be too busy with his mind on evading the punches and getting his own counters in.
It is more than a little bit pathetic really. At least when I had my long bitch about Barrera/Khan I had something to defend. Namely a fighter being asked to continue with his skull on display and no vision for several rounds. However, here a fighter has lost fair and square and still the blowhards are blowing smoke out of their arses. Accept it and move on. At least if you are going to have excuses have something logical or at least is in some way at least half reasonable, but this is daft.
What is going to be tomorrow? Manny was being weighed down by the weight of his beard? Manny was wearing the wrong coloured shorts? Marquez had actual dynamite in his gloves? Manny had caught the ghey?
With regard to Pac's previous opponent's not stepping on his toes, that's an easy one to answer: when an orthodox and south paw fighter face each other they only step on each other's feet if both fighters are making distance by quickly moving their feet forward in order to try and land punches, and in Pac's last four fights those guys were on their heels most of the night, trying to get as far away from Pac as possible, not stepping in to meet his attacks with counters. Thus, they never stepped on his feet, because they weren't moving forward, and if they were they were making weak attempts with tentative arm punches (feinting/ineffectual jabs etc.), being careful to take small, rather than large steps, being careful not to lunge with their front foot the way Marquez was, because they were not confident they could land their shots and get out without being hurt by Pac.
Marquez, on the other hand, was not afraid, and launched himself at Pac, and so his foot sometimes landed on Pac's because Pac's foot is always gonna be closer to his when they're fighting than an orthodox fighter's foot would be. People who aren't involved in sports like boxing don't understand the myriad variables that have to be taken into account in split seconds by the individuals involved. Marquez's only intention was to land his straight right hand and normally if he lunged in like that, he would end up on the other side of a fighter, and circle away, but with Pac he would have had to push his left foot out at a weird angle to avoid hitting his foot - and trust me, in the heat of the moment, you're not gonna think about this, you're just gonna do what you've been doing your whole career, and initiate the footwork you have used your entire career - it's muscle memory, and that's all it comes down to.
I don't know how people can be so petty as to try and tarnish the man's achievements, you would be hard-pressed to find a more honourable, honest fighter than Marquez, I have never once seem him try to gain an unfair advantage over an opponent by using dirty tactics, I even saw him apologising to Pac during the fight for one of his shots going a bit low. Also, I have fought south paws before, and in 3-5 mins I have had this happen to me 3 or 4 times, particularly if you spar against someone with quick feet, because it's impossible to anticipate their movement 100% of the time and concentrate on getting into range to launch your own attacks. Now amplify that, and think about the fact they fought for 36 minutes, and tbh I wouldn't have been surprised if it had happened more than 7 times. Nothing sinister about that.
Floyd is a different kettle of fish entirely, because he likes to pot shot people, and isn't generally looking to land hard punches like Marquez was - that means his feet are planted in front of the guy for literally as long as it takes him to throw his punch (blink and you'll miss it); he moves into range, hits his man (mainly with the laser right lead) and then is back on his toes to avoid a potential counter. PBF's intention is to score and frustrate his opponent, in order that said opponent will come to him, so he can continue to counter, and so people step onto the Mayweather carousel. In contrast, Marquez's counters were designed not only to score, but to keep Pac at bay, to back him up and ensure that they stayed (relatively) in the middle of the ring, rather than being pushed back onto the ropes where he could really have gotten himself into trouble. You don't want to be moving backwards in a straight line against someone like Pac who can cover the distance of the ring in a matter of seconds and get on top of you with fast combinations. So you counter him, interrupt his rhythms and get off the line before he can regain any momentum. It was a textbook performance from Marquez, and I hate to see people scrutinising the most trivial details of the fight, and then trying to extrapolate some kind of negative from it - can we not just leave it at Marquez executing a meticulous strategy on the night, and Manny getting lucky with the cards/who his promoter is? Honestly people need to take their rose-tinted spectacles off and stop being so bloody green, it's bad enough the man was robbed without people trying to sweep it under the carpet.
Your argument is fundamentally absurd though. To even consider that Marquez was purposely using foul play is utterly demented. I'm glad that you accept that Manny lost and respect that, but to even think that Marquez was purposely and without even so much as looking jumping all over the boots of Manny is silly. Surely you can see that.
Just accept the loss for what it was and move on. Fighters lose fights, it happens to the best of them, but there is no use crying foul in what was actually a remarkably clean fight. Neither Marquez nor Manny ever fights dirty and that is one of the pleasures in seeing them fight one another. There is no point in bringing down what was really a fantastic display from Marquez on trivial points such as the occasional tangle of feet.
Several foot tangles is not going to determine the course of a fight and to purposely do so could very well have seen Marquez slip and end up on his back. Nobody would ever seriously consider such an approach and nothing in Marquez's history has ever suggested serious foul play. Now if we are talking Barrera, Hopkins or Hatton then fair enough, but not Marquez and in such an absurd way too.
Some of the Pac fans need to get a grip. 'Foot stomper trick' indeed! ;D
Happens all the time, unavoidable, get over it. If you have ever boxed in your life or fought in anyway against a southpaw you would know this. I have sparred plenty of southpaws and one of the biggest punches I got caught with was when the guy stepped on my foot, he didnt mean to but I was coming forward and so we he, his stance was a little longer than mine so his foot met mine before I could move it and BANG.
But seriously, stupid fucking thread.
exactly, it's a ridiculous thread and very very very transparent, you didn't hear Clottey fans crying and bitching for a JUSTICE when Pacquiao clapped on his head :-X
PSL you've always had a crappy rep here when it comes to your "knowledge" but you seriously just flushed whatever little credibility you might have had down the toilet with this thread lol
I remember this being one of the "Old School"/"Hardcore" boxing tricks used by Brian Dennahey in the movie 'Gladiator'...he would also headbutt punches in order to hurt the other fighter's fists....what a badass that Brian Dennahey, I bet he'd whip all your asses AND Chuck Norris right damn now ;)
So let me get this straight... Pactards are getting excited because an orthodox fighter stepped on a southpaw's foot 7 times?
Over twelve rounds?
So basically something along the lines of 2 rounds for every foot step? Fuck me... No wonder Marquez made Pac look so ordinary.
Forgetting the fact that this is very common when facing a southpaw... both fighters want their foot outside... if two people want to occupy the exact same space then this might happen? and because relatively speaking, Pacquio isn't good with angles... or course the cleverer boxer who is changing angle first is more likely to end up on top of the other, slower witted fighter's foot.
But seriously...
Half a 'stomp' for every round?... wow... a real game changer for sure. and we're getting excited over this why?
What will you pactards scrape fro the bottom of the barrel next?
wow...you picked the favorite and the favorite happened to win the fight..... SORRY SIR I'M NOT WORTHY!!!
just cause you pick the favorite to win and he usually does doesn't mean that you know shit about the actual fundamentals or the science in boxing, quick question have you ever stepped foot in a boxing gym, and I'm not talking about checking out the guys working out, SERIOUS QUESTION, have you ever boxed a day in your fucking life and it not be on Fight Night?
