He didn't win/win convincingly. Other than that, definitely on roids. Probably near OD'd himself when he ko'd hatton back then.
Edit: Jesus christ, I was being sarcastic. OD'ing on peds before a fight? Defies logic and is borderline absurd. I swear some of you guys need to lighten up. ;)

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
Pac on roids? Wow, some stupid people in here. Floyd also said he shits money. Do you believe that too? Now to the actual subject of the thread, there's no way Pac is going to give him that. Marquez is a star, but Pac is still much much bigger. Marquez doesn't have the clout to make that kind of demand.

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
Without a doubt it should be in Mexico. Marquez is set financially. He can retire and do whatever he wants for the rest of his life. While another big payday would be great in reality he doesn’t need it. So with Pacquiao unwilling to fight Pretty Boy it seems to me that Pacquiao needs Marquez more than Marquez needs him. So after agreeing to all his all demands just to makae the 3rd fight. Marquez should make Pac do the same. But there's no way the coward in Pac would let him do it.

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
so many Pacman haters. Damn guys, get over it . 3 close fights! Marquez was the better man in the 3rd fight , but it was close and no robbery. Both are phenomenal fighters , and don't deserve (Pacman) to be acused of roids and that stuff. Whoever you think should be up in the trilogy, it's subjective in this case

Good point. Wont happen though. I honestly can only see retirement for PacMan now.

Don't know why anyone is calling pac a coward. He didn't have to do the 3rd fight people. But he did it. Get over it. Wow!

He fought JMM 3x already in a place that used to a part of Mexico. Lol! And none of those fights won by Juan. FACT!

4. Marquez wearing mexican boots with iron spikes on
Seriously, they can have the fight in Dallas if they want to. That will make sense.

Yup, he did it thinking Marquez wouldn't hang at 144lbs and it would be an easy knockout victory for him. Just like all set-up Pacquiao fights. Coward is a strong word but the Pacman needs to grow some nuts, man up and tell his people what he wants because right now he looks like a pussy who likes the easy fights.

Of course he had to. He had to get rid of the bogeyman and make his statement. Unfortunately for him all the vaunted improvements were found to be false. Marquez still had the style to give Manny fits. \

First, I think credit should go to Marquez for improving a lot, especially on handling the weight. Pac's improvement were never proven false just after this fight, its not even fair to consider that his achievements prior to the fight with Marquez is standing on the foundation of 'false vaunted improvements'.
The skill of pac was nullified with the improved skills of Marquez. You should be fair to consider this rather than saying that pac's skills or improvements are all lies.

Can't really definitively say that about manny, i mean him being a coward. The dude, going against all detractors, somehow urged his handlers way back in 2003 to make a bout with a top p4p barrera possible. He was a nobody back then. No one accusing him of being on roids and shit. This, when everyone here in the philippines was saying he'll get owned by barrera, badly.
People don't earn the p4p #1 rating by being a coward or being a pussy who likes to take easy fights. It's easy to accuse someone of cowardice when you personally don't go up against the boxers manny has went up against. We have hindsight to tell us that odlh would be a zombie back then but manny didn't. Sure roach told him he'd be shot but lotsa people even when roach said that before the fight, didn't take that hook line and sinker. Even detractors here probably didn't think odlh would be a walking zombie then.
It's laughably easy to nitpick a fighter's resume when we have all the facts laid before us now but back then we never did and we (I at least) believed all/most was pre hype fight. Way before manny got into the lime light he was taking on no name fighters with little prospect of riches and he was taking them on. No cowardice there.
The guy insisted he'd win against barrera when everyone and I mean everyone was telling him he didn't stand a chance.
I know a lot of you would say but that was before, now he's going up against washed up/cherry picked fighters. Who in the current ww/lw division right now aside from marquez (I'm going easy here since I still don't think marquez would be able to surpass manny's post lw achievements) or mayweather do you think would have bagged the same achievements manny had. And I'm not even talking about featherweight and below.
And by the way, I thought Marquez won. I gave him props. I defended him here in saddo and irl against people who said marquez is a cheat. My point is manny is no pussy fighter who likes easy fights. Check his resume, go tell me which other fighter in this decade would have the same resume he has achieved. Grow up people. I know Mayweather is great, marquez too, but downgrading manny's achievements or calling him a coward won't help your case.

They have both always been very good, but styles make fights. Anyone who is going to come out and brawl with Manny by thinking he is the 'bigger' man is going to get beaten up and I think this fight simply shows that Manny has trouble with a thinking fighter who isn't afraid to pull the trigger. I don't think Marquez has been getting better at his age, but he is still extremely good at what he does. I believe that Pac is much the same, but has just been much quicker than the bigger men and has carried his power with him. When put back in there with Marquez it was the same old befuddled Manny. He has never been able to work it out.
Manny looks improved against a certain type of fighter, but Mosley showed that he could still be nullified and Marquez showed that with some balls rounds can still be won. Mosley largely did what Barrera did the second time out, but it is Marquez who has been quick enough to get punches off and then get out of range again. Manny is excellent at what he does, but he is nowhere near the finished product that his team had built him up to be and it's a style that is only going to erode with age as he relies so much on his speed.

you sound better this time. I cant agree more with your points.
Truly, marquez's chin improved a lot. He took some clean punches from Pac and it seems he was not hurt (although his face is all bruised up), not even rattled once. As for his punches, I dont think they have improved power-wise, but precision-wise, the punches are finding the target almost at will.
Pac lost his head movement. In replays I can see that he was able to anticipate and see most of the punches that are coming, its just that he wasnt able to duck or move to avoid those. In one replay, he was able to close his eyes for a like half a second, instead of moving his face out from Marquez's incoming punch.

No he doesn't. He's recently fought De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito and Mosley. Give your head a wobble.

Seriously bro, as far as Althugz is concerned those guys you mentioned above could pass of as extras in The walking dead when manny faced them. I bet Althugz could even knock them out without completing a single swimming lap in his daily regimen. Fact. ODLH, Hatton, Cotto Margarito and Mosley can't compete in a swimming lap against Althugz.

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
More chance of an alien invasion than this fight going to Mexico.
You might get 30,000 paying punters in Mexico but that's 30,000 paying punters at $2 a ticket.

Ditto. Like you've said in the other thread, boxing has always been about money. And does it make sense hosting it in Mexico money wise? It goes to Vegas if there is a 4th fight, which I highly doubt that there is a 4th fight.
-
Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
It would be awesome in Mexico. However, realize that the crowd was primarily Mexican when they fought in Vegas and it would be primarily Mexican if they fought at Dallas Stadium.
It looks like the fight was a success. Everyone see these articles:

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
I'm not sure how the ball is in Marquez's court exactly. He's 0-2-1 against Manny having lost the last two fights. How can he think he can even dictate their be a fourth fight, let alone where it is held? If they do fight again Manny will win again. Move on and fight Floyd please.

Re: Marquez: Ball is in my court, 4th Pacquiao fight in Mexico!!
Did Manny fight in Manila? This is a stupid as thread.
