First, I think credit should go to Marquez for improving a lot, especially on handling the weight. Pac's improvement were never proven false just after this fight, its not even fair to consider that his achievements prior to the fight with Marquez is standing on the foundation of 'false vaunted improvements'.
The skill of pac was nullified with the improved skills of Marquez. You should be fair to consider this rather than saying that pac's skills or improvements are all lies.
They have both always been very good, but styles make fights. Anyone who is going to come out and brawl with Manny by thinking he is the 'bigger' man is going to get beaten up and I think this fight simply shows that Manny has trouble with a thinking fighter who isn't afraid to pull the trigger. I don't think Marquez has been getting better at his age, but he is still extremely good at what he does. I believe that Pac is much the same, but has just been much quicker than the bigger men and has carried his power with him. When put back in there with Marquez it was the same old befuddled Manny. He has never been able to work it out.
Manny looks improved against a certain type of fighter, but Mosley showed that he could still be nullified and Marquez showed that with some balls rounds can still be won. Mosley largely did what Barrera did the second time out, but it is Marquez who has been quick enough to get punches off and then get out of range again. Manny is excellent at what he does, but he is nowhere near the finished product that his team had built him up to be and it's a style that is only going to erode with age as he relies so much on his speed.
you sound better this time. I cant agree more with your points.
Truly, marquez's chin improved a lot. He took some clean punches from Pac and it seems he was not hurt (although his face is all bruised up), not even rattled once. As for his punches, I dont think they have improved power-wise, but precision-wise, the punches are finding the target almost at will.
Pac lost his head movement. In replays I can see that he was able to anticipate and see most of the punches that are coming, its just that he wasnt able to duck or move to avoid those. In one replay, he was able to close his eyes for a like half a second, instead of moving his face out from Marquez's incoming punch.
Did Manny fight in Manila? This is a stupid as thread.
