Floyd's chin and stamina?
Mayweather has one of the best defenses ever, this coupled along with his boxing skills/talent makes him damn near unbeatable. He can take a great fighter, like JMM or a good one like Hatton and make them look like a fucking amateur. Floyd might do the same thing to Cotto, he certainly will be a big favorite May 5th.
What if however, Cotto is able to make a fight out of it, connecting with powerful shots to the 35 year old Mayweather's body and head, and pushing him like he's never been pushed before? The question is, how well would Floyd's chin hold up if he's getting hit with big shots to the head and how well would his stamina hold up if Cotto effectively works the body?
Think about it, Cotto has everything to win, and nothing to lose, because nobody is expecting him to win.
Thoughts?

Floyd's stamina is the best in the sport, I've never seen him out of breath or looking fatigued. I don't think Cotto will be able to maintain a body attack because he will have counter punches coming his way.
It's a good question but I just don't see this happening, Cotto is no longer the vicious fighter he was he's more of a boxer now.

Idk. Hard to tell. He only averages 36 punches per round.

He never looks tired because he always dictate the temp of the fight. If he feels a little tired he will just cover up and move and pot shot. Its true that he only throws very few punches and that is so he won't get tired. You have to take him out of his tempo to get him tired but its a very hard thing to do.

My opinion is that well, Floyd is 35 years old, he very probably is the best x, but I'd rather say: has been the best x for years instead of "is", just because I'm tired of watching lots of shameful failed exclusively post fight excuses that the analysts give when they say oh he turned out to be past his prime . Age affects timing and reflexes first and even if he wins easily as he probably will, I think that this fight at these ages favours cotto at least 1% more than if they had found in cotto's prime, because at those ages floyd was proved to be very good too, although many ones wouldn't agree with this because they see cotto as someone extremely good in his prime but pacquiao gave him such a beating that i don't rely.

I just like to see how Floyd's stamina holds up if he's being pressured an getting hit with effective punches, about the only fight I can recall Floyd being hurt, and in danger of losing was the 1st Castillo fight. Cotto might try studying some tapes of that fight.

I think Floyd had a rib injury going into that fight.
With that in mind, Cotto might wanna watch the 2nd fight a couple times too.

Exactly I feel that Cotto has to make it a fight and rough him up. A lot of people are saying he has to jab and box with Floyd to win. But thats the mistake alot of fighters make , they go in there and stay at Floyd's tempo only throwing one punch at a time which is when Floyd just counters it. Cotto will have to throw combinations and get out of there as soon as he is done throwing it. Just hope that Cotto's stamina holds up

I dont think the tempo of how he fights is as much to do with his stamina as much as it is his dedication to the sport. He has fought higher paced fights before and been fine. Jesus Chavez and Philip Ndou immediately spring to mind as does his fight vs Augustus.
Sure he's older now but this is a guy who spars 15-20 minutes straight sometimes with fresh rotating opponents. I think the least of Floyds concerns is stamina when it comes to figuring out his gameplan.
Sparing is not the same thing as being in a fight with someone who's really trying to do damage to you.
I believe I raise a good question, sure Floyd could end up dominating Cotto, he has that kind of ability, but what if Miguel can put some hurt on him and takes him out of his usual rhythm? Who knows "Superman" could be ripe for the plucking.
P.S. Win, lose or draw, there's no way that Floyd knocks Miguel out, that just ain't gonna happen.

Floyd's stamina is an A+ and he also has a very good chin.. FLoyd's chin dont get mentioned too often but he has one of the best chins out there...

I don't think Floyd's chin has been tested very often. His defense and reflexes have allowed him to turn many hard punches into glancing blows. One notable exception was the Mosley fight, when Mosley rocked him with a good right hand. Floyd survived that... not only because he took it well... but thanks in great part to Mosley himself, who inexplicably and frustratingly went into a shell and never took advantage of the situation.

Gianluca Branco had his arm fractured from left hooks to it in their fight at 140

Floyd's chin. Pretty decent chin. Of course he doesn't get hit clean very often.
Stamina:
1-Floyd is always in shape, keeping his weight down
2-Floyd is relaxed in the ring. The one thing I have noticed about many fighters with stamina issues (such as Jermaine Taylor), is they aren't ever comfortable in the ring. Very tense. That tension will wear guys down.
3-Floyd controlls pace. He'll counterpunch one round, then lead with sneaky shots the next. He doesn't allow anyone to dictate the pace for 12 rounds and wear him down with high volume.
