After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
What do we have to look forward to? Arreola? A Haye comeback? Chısora? A Peter comeback? What about a Lennox comeback? Worse yet, a Holyfıeld comeback. Whatever happened to Tyson-Holyfıeld III? They both need the money anyway. Does anybody really want to see those Russıans anymore or that Polısh guy? I guess we'll have to put all our hopes ın Tyson F:rolleyes:ry and that Scandınavıan guy whats hıs name.......Ingemaar Johanssen ıs ıt?

Tyson is taking his show from Vegas to Broadway so he really has no need to take it to the ring anymore, Holyfield is now starting to sell BBQ sauce :-X, either way the HW division has been dead for a while now, not like the USA has anyone worth a damn apart from MAYBE Mitchell and Wilder and that's a huge maybe :-\

just because there is no meaningful HWY from the USA, doesnt mean the division is dead.

didn't say that the division was dead because there isn't a meaningful HW from USA, it's because there isn't ANY meaningful HW apart from the Klitschko's, so then when they leave all we'll have left is the crap that couldn't get passed them in the first place, name ONE HW apart from the Klits who are worth a damn and could have beaten ANY TOP FIGHTER from any other era

David Tua swears he's got a couple of years left in him, also.

The thing is a lot of fighters, that are coming through in all weight divisions from the former Eastern Block. And not so many from USA,! in all weight divisions HW included, so this is a new chapter in boxing,
in all the weight divisions there great good and mediocre, champion's would the HW be poorer.
With out the Klits yes, but there is all way's some one round the corner, to replace them is there not
boxing has been all way's the same since time and memorial.:)

No he referring to the Klits, the Russians you mention do not deserve a mention.

there will be a down period when the klits go maybe but shortly after the hw scene will rocket

Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
It'll all work out and rise to the top. Way to much stock and emphasis has been put on the division historically, for me anyways. Change is a good thing. Years ago could you envision a Vitali who was quitting on his stool or a Wlad who was getting mugged like a rude panhandler coming to be as dominate as they are today? I mean Haye was written off as a loud mouth braggard who couldn't pull it off when it counted and make a statement. Well. Somethings change anyway ;D

Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
I enjoy heavyweight fights. The day they retire is the day things get interesting again. I want unpredictability. Not some lumbering asshole biding his tall-assed time.

Agreed. No one wants to square off against a brick wall. Folks are stalling their careers to keep from gettin' their necks broken.

its not just the tallent thats a problem its the controlling situation away from the ring thats a massive problem
to fight for the title fighters have to do everything the klits way and earn next to nothing for their trouble

your countryman got the deal HE ASKED FOR, a 50/50 split, 100% earnings on British PPV, and made a killing, he beat his chest and said that he was going to save the division, come fight night what did he do? run like a bitch, bend over to suck Ukranian cock, then after the beating he blamed it on his pinky toe, he was given everything he asked for and put up NO effort, the real money makers are the Klits because they put in the work and have earned their paycheck, they either dominate or stop their opponents so don't see how anyone can blame them for being so fucking dominant against EVERYONE in the damn division
-
If the Klitschkos were from the USA,
they'd be the greatest fighters ever. Don't try to deny it! The main reason you don't like them is they aren't American, plus they continue to kick the starch out of everyone. It's really not their fault the USA doesn't have any serious contenders.
-
Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
When the Klitschko's leave it will be a crap division, but it would also be interesting who would be #1.
Povetkin- I doubt it , the guy lost (unofficialy) to Huck and doesn't take on good fighters
Fury, Deontay Wilder -possibly
Pulev , Adamek , Boystov - solid fighters but they aint anything special at heavyweight
Helenius- possibly - he has the size and power of a hwy champ but not too much skill
Haye and Chisora- both guys are talented ,but enough to be the #1?
Szpilka deserves a mention also
my pick would be David Price with Wilder coming as a close second. Both are young and have time to improve . btw Vitali will have his last fight later this year, while Wlad is 36 and probably will leave before turning 40 ( maybe before if he ages and gets Ko'd)

That is what I think also because it simply cant get any worse. The average hev is not close to 7 feet tall and 265. I believe the exit of the Klits will encourage more people to take up the sport. It evens up the playing field.

I really hope at least 1 Klitschko fights for 5 more years or at least until the HW division gets better fighters. If anyone believes the HW division ıs borıng now, just imagine what it would be like after Lennox Lewis, without the K-Bros, does anyone remember the Chris Byrd era? ;)

If that was the case Chad Dawson would be an all American favourite fighter but everyone finds him boring and cant be bothered to watch him fight.

the way people viewed them would definately be very different
but take larry holmes for example, he had a jab jab style and people were waiting for the next man
and would the slave contracts be there?

The fuck? I seriously doubt David Haye got a "slave contract" from Wladimir Klitschko. A little history lesson for you, SLAVES DIDN'T GET PAID!
If The Klitschko's were American yeah, people would love them no doubt about it. They'd be on the Wheaties box and have video games, and all that shit, no doubt in my mind.

yup haye was the only one, played it well, ended up with a decent share, probably more than all of both bros other opponents over the last 10 years put together
if you actually think the way they conduct business is any help to the game then you are dafter than you seem

Why is it that the contenders that fight the Klitschko brothers make CAREER HIGH purses vs them? You're a damn nutjob.

OK so David Haye's highest ever payday to date was vs who then? Did you say Wladimir Klitschko??? Well if not, then you're wrong. You could add up what Haye made vs Valuev, Harrison, Barrett, and Ruiz and probably not match what he made fighting Wladimir.....slave contract...you're an idiot
-
Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
You could add up Wlad's last 8-10 fights and probably not match what he made against Haye.
The amount of money you make in boxing is based on what you can sell. Those Klitschko opponents bring nothing so make "nothing." It's simple as that really.

he made a hefty wad against harrison too
and of course he will make more against the HW champ
and i reckon you could add the 4 names you mentioned and if it didnt surpass what he earned against wlad than it will have come pretty close
you could had wlads last 10 opponents appart from haye and it probably doesnt get anywhere near what he earned in any one of those fights
and perhaps it is all down to those opponents offering nothing, but that will continue as long as the klits are around
when they go there may well be a down period, but then we will come out the other side and perhaps then we will have a HW division again at some point
-
Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
:vd: so let me get this straight...David Haye is the reason Wlad makes money??? Is that what you think??? Wlad makes bank regardless of who he fights, when you have as many people coming to the stadium as he has you're going to make money. The FACT is David Haye doesn't have a large fan base, he's never sold out anything. Wlad sells out stadiums, he sold them out before and after Haye. When over 50,000 people show up to see Wlad vs Eddie Chambers you can't say David Haye did jack shit. David Haye is a British fighter, he's NOT a world class heavyweight, never was, never will be.
-
Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
Eric is right about the purses for Haye.
Haye made a reported £5 million for the Audley fight alone. He was on £6/7 for every PPV sold against Valuev - it sold near 1 million.
Haye-Wlad split around £20 million. So Haye beat the money he made against Wlad against those two chumps.
Ticket sales don't mean shit compared to PPV. Floyd Mayweather isn't the highest paid athlete in the world due to ticket sales. He's the PPV daddy.

Wlad made a reported $5 million against Chambers ($1m).
Wlad made a reported $21 million against Haye ($21m)

nope the thread is - (if you think its boring now bla bla bla) and my point is that the point of the thread is based on a missjudgement, the reason the HW divison has spiralled deaper into shitness over the last 5 years is because 2 fighters completely control the scene and they are boring inside and outside the ring
once they retire things can only get a little bit more interesting and you never know it might become exciting again one day
and david haye is far from the saviour of the hws, he'll probably retire again after saturday

Re: After the Klıtschkos...(ıf you thınk ıts borıng NOW!)
The Klits are making money maybe not as much as if they were on PPV but they have made a business decision that they will be on free German TV which is watched by millions. They also sell out arenas and fight in places where they will not be taxed so heavily. The Klits control the promotion and therefore keep more of the money.
Also it is more than just the money, they are quality fighters and are articulate. No way can you hate them for being consistent champions and staying on top of the game.

AGREED. I dont hate them at all. They are certaınly skıllfull. They just couldnt hold a candle to Alı or Holmes or Bowe or Lennox Lewıs ın hıs prıme.
