Mate I saw that exact line up a number of times when in my very early teens they played here many times at a high school hall there were blues going off all over the place skinhead or sharpies were around back then out here. Cheap alcohol and testosterone dont mix. :)
It don't get better...maybe ian gillan is a better singer, but not by much
Sound tracks cool.
Fighting to the Wolf great raspy voice !

Nice and cruisey style there P4p ;).
Ive always loved this its one of my three favorites of Zappas lead work. The emotion in the writing of it with his execution is something unrivaled, its not for all tastes though.

Starts about the 2:00 min mark playing around, 4.06 is just down right mean as shit, at 4:50 theres this staggered chunkiness that raises the hair up on my neck, his guitar is crying mean blues by 5:30, then he plays around with rising up and down peeks etc and eventually around the 7 minute mark its like it tumbles off and cascades over edge and then begins to pool together and form a new life of its own.
But thats just me ;D
thıs ıs one of my 6 fave Zappa solos of all tıme. Ahead of thıs I rate the studıo versıon of "Sleep Dirt" then "Rat Tomago", "The Ocean Is the Ultımate Solutıon", "Wet T Shirt Nıght/Todo Line" and 2 others I cant remember now.
Thıs ıs a great pıck a classıc pıck Andre. Yes ıt becomes quıte mean at 4:06 and I know what you mean about that choppıness that kicks in---ıt makes me jerk my neck like a sailor marchıng or lıke a horse buckıng for a few seconds----ıt hıts a kınd of stıff upper lıp mood lıke a serıous man tryıng to keep ıt together ın a crısıs and not shed a tear or somethıng---ıts oddly emotıonal gıven ıts stıff robotıc kınd of voıce. Here ıs "Todo Lıne" whıch gıves me fıts---I once got so off on thıs (sure, the Tequıla played a part ın ıt as well) that I punched my college roommate ın the kıdney.

Ritchie Blackmore. One of the greats. Him and Eric Clapton were the guys who went to Jim Marshall and got him to make the first Marshall amps. Blackmore was doing all the feedback stuff ten years before Hendrix came along. He was amazing to watch live. Some of the best concert attending memories I have. He only ever played this song live once somewhere in America but Dio used to play it when he formed Dio later on.

It got played live at the Winterland Arena in San Francisco on May 20th 1978. Isn't the internet marvellous.
More Blackmore tomorrow.
Anyone familiar with Gamalon?

Tribal Tech? Solo starts off around 1 minute mark

Funk Group called Slave. I think...this was the 1st solo I ever heard. Might have been 8 or 9 years old.
Around the 2:20 mark in the video

Here is a small sample of Jerry’s solos. I certainly wouldn’t call him smoking or anything but I think he was underrated in the mainstream and damn he could play with feeling. He would hit some clunkers but when he was on his guitar could bring tears to your eyes

It was the other way round. Blackmore was in Deep Purple who were on the same level as Zeppelin and the Stones in America in the seventies playing to crowds of hundreds of thousands. Dio was in a band called Elf who opened a few shows for Purple at one point. Blackmore liked the singer and when he split from Purple grabbed Dio and a couple of others from the band to be part of what was originally called Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and eventually became just Rainbow. Blackmore is it's fair to say not a people person and went through band members at a rate of knots. Dio got the boot after a while and was replaced by this guy. It's fair to say Blackmore could pick singers. This fucker is in his seventies now and can still sing like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2XDORONuuY&ab_channel=Rainbow
But he wouldn't grow his hair so he got the boot almost immediately and was replaced by this guy:

I have knocked off work early. I have eaten a significant quantity of special cake and am now drinking Tripel Karmeliets. It's abeer that used to be brewed by Carmelite monks but is now knocked out by some commercial brewery. It's like a much stronger much tastier version of Heineken. I would recommend you try it if you see a bottle. The smaller bottles are better than the champagne bottles as it loses its carbonation fairly quickly and the loss of bubbles make it too smooth.
Here are some nice electric guitar songs to play loud. :)

Solo kicks in 4:50. Truly original solo. Was he high on something to take it where he did or just freeing his soul!? You be the judge!!!
Big T it seems boobtube is down right now
Maybe not wicked solo as much as ahead of its time?

I think that's Al di meola I can tell by his playing. That is some amazing arpeggio where he moves from the perfect fifth to the flat 5th and then moves up one and a half steps or like a minor third interval and then repeats it again. I would not say that he was high on something because I don't think that kind of structure could be carried out so precisely if he were really high. @SlimTrae
Trey, trey can play
