Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
OK so I still give pac props for fighting the same guy over and over until the guy figures him out. (floyd would never do that)
But what do yall think about floyd vs jmm rematch? IS it worth watching?
Did JMM ever have one punch KO power?
Does this JMM pose a threat to Floyd?
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
A resounding.... NO. There is no "new and improved" JMM. It's just money-driven hype over a big win. The guy is going on 40, which is the only reason Pac agreed to fight him again - because they assumed him to be too old. Great win, all credit to him, but lets be realistic.

Yea but now he has one punch ko power! lol
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
Same result
Jmm looked horribly slow and caught pac because he knew him so well
Not a chance against mayweather, who is a superior jmm ... Albeit with less power .. Atleast now anyway
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
No, Marquez should retire. Mayweather is a bigger fighter and that was the difference in the first fight and though Marquez has grown into the weight, Mayweather is now a set 154 pounder. It doesn't have any meaning.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
The same thing would happen again, a boxing lesson for majority of the fight, except in a rematch PBF would likely stop JMM.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
Floyd does everything JMM does, better than JMM does. We saw that in the first fight and it wouldn't be any different in a rematch.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
Whilst JMM is grown and better at welterweight than when he first fought Floyd, Marquez would not be able to beat Floyd who is way too good. JMM will probably have the 5th fight with Manny.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
Nope Floyd fights Canelo next then maybe Bradley or Guerrero, or maybe Martinez
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
The Guardian is reporting that Arum is trying to make Floyd Marquez in May and Floyd Manny in September on the Mexican holidays.

Yuck, really hope neither of those happen. Floyd would be completely wasting the year if he takes that route, from a fans point of view at least. I don't get where Arum would come in for another Floyd Marquez fight, the promotion for their first was surely GBP and Mayweather not a top rank card right?
As far as wanting to put Manny in with Mayweather now, that is typical. Arum must want to cash out while the fight would still at all, I'd guess Pacquiao wouldn't be able to demand even half of what he could have just a year ago.

Someone needs to tell the Guardian that Floyd and Arum don't do business with one another.
The guy who wrote the story already knows that. But he's got a quote from Ellerbe saying Floyd might fight Marquez on Cinco. And that Arum is coming to the end of his career and wants to make lemonade out of lemons.
If you were Floyd would you rather fight Guerrero/Canelo or Marquez/Manny? Obviously the latter two make more money but just from a boxing point of view? You're Floyd, you've got three or four fights left and you want to minimise wear and tear and make as much as you can.

It'dlook good on Floy'd resume though. He couldn't be accused of ducking Manny (Ok, still can be accused of ducking prime Manny) and he could still fight Canelo on Cinco 2014 weekend, by which time the Canelo fight would be mega money too.

In the long run I guess so, but for right now it'd just make Floyd look spineless. Pacquiao is coming off of 2 losses against much smaller men than Floyd has been fighting, and off the back of that KO against a guy who couldn't win a round against Floyd. Who knows if he's even going to bounce back to form at all, that was as good a one punch KO as I've ever seen live.
Especially given that Mayweather supposedly wasn't willing to make the fight out of principle over drug testing or dealing with Arum etc. To just put that aside and take the fight now for the lions share would kind of stink to me, although I'm sure it'd still be by far the biggest purse out there.

There are endless potential problems that might prevent these fights happening, not least that Floyd may be contractually obligated to GBP seeing as they loaned him serious money to pay off his debts before the Marquez fight. 50 Cent says that Mayweather Promotions is just a name, it's not an incorporated company and basically contracts GBP to run promotions for Mayweather fights. GBP may have Floyd under some sort of legal obligations that prevent him doing a deal with Arum.

Yeah I'm not oblivious to all that, just think it stinks personally should the fight come off now. As I said I wouldn't be at all surprised if Arum will suddenly bend over to salvage whatever cut he can before the fight isn't viable at all. I'm not sure why GBP would prevent Floyd from working with Arum though, always thought that was more of a personal matter between old Bob and Floyd. GBP and Top rank have worked together on plenty of other big fight cards.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
Schaefer hates Arum and Arum doesn't like Schaefer much either. Golden Boy have more top fighters than Top Rank, more champions and more TV dates. Arum's PPV fighters (Manny, JCC Junior, who am I forgetting?) have all had big losses and Arum is 81. He'd like nothing better than to go from where he is now to makin the two biggest fights of the year next year and take them away from GBP. Compared to before Arum's negotiating position is considerably weakened so he may well make Floyd a fantastic offer.
Re: Floyd (who never gives rematches) vs the new and Improved jmm aka Jmm 2.0?
No...
Styles make fights and both are counter punchers. One has to initiate.

Don King had no principles he would have made the fight. Money is money.
