Mayweather tweeted about fighting Alexander at 147 this makes no sense to me because Alexander has no following what so ever and a May 4th date itd be better to fight against a Hispanic. Thoughts?

This had better be bullshit. Depends what Brook/Hearn say. If this is true they had to pay Brook step aside money. If Brook/Hearn don't know about this then it's bullshit. Also, too, existing contract.

This looks to be legit. The longer negotiations have gone on with Guerrero the more you had to believe something was wrong. I think Alexander commands less money than Guerrero, which will create more money in the pot to put Canelo on the undercard. If that happens, Mayweather makes more on the PPV buyrate because Canelo has such a strong following. Sounds like a business decision to me.
Alexander lacks likeability. It's not his fault he has that face, but yet, he has that face.
Not a fight I'd be happy to see.
Vs the ghost or brook then later it he year against Canelo.
His year should have been sorted already.

Is this the same former junior welterweight that quit against Bradley, and lost to Matthysse and Kotelnik? The same guy who grunts a lot when he fights? Unfortunately, the only compelling match-ups for Floyd are with guys above 147. Trout, Canelo, Martinez, Lara, these are all better fights than Alexander.

I have no issues with this fight if it actually gets made. Never thought it had a chance because they are buddies like Ward and Dirrell. Not sure why people are writing it off as some escape route. Kinda comical really.

The IBF say no to the unification fight because of the Brook situation and rightfully so IMO.

Martinez should step up to 168 and fight ward instead of picking on the little guys (chavez was massive so whats the excuse not to move up!?)

Does anyone think that maybe because Mayweather-Guerrero wasn't the biggest draw in the world, by tweeting about Devon people might think he is afraid of Roberto and when he changes his mind it may make more money?

The only problem with that is Guerrero is most likely a bigger draw then Devon outside of Saint Louis. I also do not believe that any rational boxing fan is going to buy into the notion that Floyd is scared of Guerrero. I do think you are on to something about being some kind of ploy though and believe that it will still be Guerrero given the date. Who knows with this guy though. He's got a date, location and Hbo in his pocket and needs a partner. If it ends up being Alexander then so be it. As you know Devon announced he suffered an injury weeks ago and his fight vs. Kell Brook was postponed...
So earlier today PBF tweeted about a fight being in the last steps of done vs. Devon Alexander...
The hours later the IBF sends out a message stating that they have not received any paperwork in regards to Devon fighting PBF and that they will NOT accept the fight since Devon is contracted to fight Brook...
What do you think will happen?
Will Devon drop the belt to fight PBF?
If so what does PBF get out of fighting Devon? If not for the belt?
Will they give Brook some "Step aside" money?
Will PBF just move on and fight Robert Guerrero?

I think Floyd will fight Guererro this is just messing about Devon and particularly Brooks. I do not think the fight will sell with Alexander. Floyd will fight at Welterweight that is his best weight.
