Why are British Boxers so feather fisted? Everyone except for David Haye and "perhaps" David Price, seems to be so feather fisted. Always a friggin decision... whats up with that? Not even stops on cuts!

I'm watching the Monaco Tournament on one channel and watching British Boxing on Sky Sports on the other... and I have already seen three fights on the Monaco Tournament that were all scheduled for 10 rounds or more, and the first fight on Sky Sports between two Brits ain't even finished yet... wth??

Not sure what it is. Carl Froch is particularly feather fisted. That guy couldn't hurt a fly. Tony Bellew who is fighting tonight as well is feather fisted. They call him bomber because he farts alot, but in general he's a fucking pansy.Quote:

I don't believe this is really all that true.
Although I do agree that different places breed different types of boxers.
Philly breed toughness as does South American countries, but I may be being stereotypical.
We seem to breed slick boxers, Nas, Calzaghe, Haye, Groves, Eubank, etc.
I'd much rather watch some of our "feather fisted" slick fighters than someone like Wilder.
I won't argue with you on British slickness, you do have a point. And, that slickness does cost the fight to go an extra round or two when faced with a devestating puncher. In fact, taking Floyd seriously out of the discussion, British boxers out-slick every other nationality fighter that I have seen. So, I will leave that there.Quote:

I do not agree. African American fighters from the North East USA- NYC, NJ and Philly- have notoriously been power punchers. From any weight class- not so much for guys moving up in weight, they don't seem to carry as much power explosiveness. We are talking about one punch power.Quote:

But when you go further West and South-West, the guys tend to hit less harder and are wear you down kind of fighters. From any weight class too, particularly the HW's. When was the last time we had a HW champion- not even the undisputed champion- hail from the West Coast? Or anywhere past the Mason Dixon?? NEVER! Know why? Because they didn't have clock-stopping power.
Even Ali- and to some extent Liston, albeit he had a little more power to the punch- came from the Dirty South, but Ali didn't have clock-stopping power as a HW or a LH.
See what I mean? There was something in the way North Eastern US fighters were trained and bred. Shucks, even compare white HW's like Marciano and Joe Mesi to other fighters from further west- NO COMPARISON!!! Two white fighters with clock-stopping power that hailed from the North East USA.
Something has to be said about that...
As of late and generally speaking. Not about the odd case, but generally speaking. Sure, Benn and Hamed (in particular) were freaks of nature with their power. But generally speaking, as any culture can produce one guy that has power- BUT it doesn't speak much or for the rest of the crop!!Quote:
