British Boxers- Feather fisted?

I don't believe this is really all that true.

Although I do agree that different places breed different types of boxers.

Philly breed toughness as does South American countries, but I may be being stereotypical.

We seem to breed slick boxers, Nas, Calzaghe, Haye, Groves, Eubank, etc.

I'd much rather watch some of our "feather fisted" slick fighters than someone like Wilder.

I won't argue with you on British slickness, you do have a point. And, that slickness does cost the fight to go an extra round or two when faced with a devestating puncher. In fact, taking Floyd seriously out of the discussion, British boxers out-slick every other nationality fighter that I have seen. So, I will leave that there.

But, the same thing goes with French and Italian fighters, feather fisted. Canadian boxers have low output ratings. And Latin American fighters- except for Columbians- bleed profusefly and cut easily which causes most of their fights to end on cuts.

Today's African American fighter has no heart. They can take a punch every now and then, but to ask them to go 12 grueling rounds with someone that hits back is REALLY asking too much of them. But African fighters have all heart but little to no slickness and not the devestating punching ability that you THINK that they would have- black Africans and not Afrikans, which is a totally different breed of fighter and people.

Every area/continent has their own thing with their fighters.

with power, chin and great boxing skills, very few and that what makes them great fighters.!
No country has the monopoly on power punches, it is what it is you have power of punch

I do not agree. African American fighters from the North East USA- NYC, NJ and Philly- have notoriously been power punchers. From any weight class- not so much for guys moving up in weight, they don't seem to carry as much power explosiveness. We are talking about one punch power.

But when you go further West and South-West, the guys tend to hit less harder and are wear you down kind of fighters. From any weight class too, particularly the HW's. When was the last time we had a HW champion- not even the undisputed champion- hail from the West Coast? Or anywhere past the Mason Dixon?? NEVER! Know why? Because they didn't have clock-stopping power.

Even Ali- and to some extent Liston, albeit he had a little more power to the punch- came from the Dirty South, but Ali didn't have clock-stopping power as a HW or a LH.

See what I mean? There was something in the way North Eastern US fighters were trained and bred. Shucks, even compare white HW's like Marciano and Joe Mesi to other fighters from further west- NO COMPARISON!!! Two white fighters with clock-stopping power that hailed from the North East USA.

Something has to be said about that...
