Looks like his sparring partners are whipping his ass now. They claiming he fell. But I don't know about all that. That bruise is right on the area where the head gear doesn't protect muchQuote:

TOo much is being made out of this.. SO what if he got a bruise and it's highly unlikely that he got a bruise that severe from sparring with his inferior sparring partners. It definitely looks like he got into some streetfight .. BUt at the same time, I dont believe he really fell off.. NObody is that clumsy especially a fighter whose in training mode.. When dudes are in training, they are one of the sharpest people on the earth. BOth mind and body.. Chances of them slipping like that and getting a bruise are slim to none..
Something about Mikey Garcia dont sit well with me. He's a nerd with no personality, a questionable fighting spirit, and I think the dog might come out of Juanma and beat him..
I aint betting no money on it but Im with Juanma all the way.

Just my opinion, but Lopez has got too many holes and Garcia is a hard worker, doesn't get frazzled easy and doesn't have to worry about stalking and finding an opponent with better footwork. I think he's a hype job and I put Zab Judah as more highly regarded than Juan Ma. Zab as of recently had a tough fight vs Garcia where he held his own. I'm not saying Juan Ma is a shit fighter I think he's a good fighter who beat good fighters such as De Leon, Conception etc *Win on the old man Marquez who was actually giving him all Juan Ma could handle till he got injured* Anyways I think he's a good fighter but never will be a great fighter. He peaked at those wins and then got destroyed by a gatekeeper twice. Now he will get destroyed by a quality opponent. If he beats Mikey he will have one last chance I believe to be great. I rate Judah lower simply due to the fact that he has choked in every big fight he has had (other than maybe against Corley in the rematch), he's given fighters a good fight for a couple rounds and then loses clearly, Salido although not the greatest fighter also pushed Gamboa himself pretty damn hard, even dropped him, so not like he's a shit fighter either, IMO a hype job is a guy who never came close to living up to what he was being built to be, for example Panchito Bojado, James Kirkland, Arreola, Cintron, etc.Quote:

What rematch? He only fought him one time. And while Judah has underachieved for his career he did mange to be the undisputed welterweight champion at one point. Which is a bigger accomplishment than anything Lopez has doneQuote:

I don't think he looked like sh** in the 1st fight, i thought it was a good fight and a good showing from both men. Judah also almost KO'ed Spinks in the last round, very close fight which could of gone either way.Quote:

He did beat a few solid Jr Welterweights Junior Witter, Terron Millet = Coming off beating Vince Phillips. His career basically took a dive after the Kostya Tszyu loss, although he was able to comeback and have a few good showing's i don't think he was ever quite the same after the Tszyu loss.
wouldn't really rate the Witter fight too highly, IMO Corley was a bigger feat, but yea he was reaching his prime going into the Tszyu fight and never bounced back to what he was supposed to be, yea he gave top guys like Mayweather, Cotto, Garcia, tough fights, but at the end of the day lost all of them clearly, and that's what will pretty much define his careerQuote:

Aagghhh.... it's pointless to argue about Zab versus JuanMa. The argument is going to fall along "party lines", as usual. But to claim JuanMa was a "hype job" is just plain stupid. He's a two-weight division champion, same as Zab. He's got a better record than Zab, strictly from a Won-Loss perspective and particularly in KO percentage. These things themselves don't carry an argument, sure... but then again, no one is claiming Zab is a hype job, right?
About the only thing I'd add regarding the comparison is that JuanMa has fallen more steeply off his two losses, than Zab fell after his more famous losses. Zab came back and regained at least some of his form and previous luster. It's still to be seen whether JuanMa can do the same.
zab had tremendous natural gifts and talent but didn't maximize his potential against opponents on the highest level. he got beat by all the A level fighters he fought, sometimes by brutal ko, sometimes in close, tough fights. yet despite all his loses and shortcomings he continues to show the natural talent and skill that he had when he was just coming up... even when fighting top guys at the age of 35.
i don't think we'll see juanma boxing at 35 let alone looking as good as zab did in his last fight. infact, i'd go so far as to predict that this fight against garcia will be one of juanma's last big relevant fights...at least on the international stage.

I'm not so sure we can say he's lost his power, although admittedly his punches don't seem to have the "crispness" they once had. I've gone back and rewatched some of his earlier fights, and his punches, especially that short, quick right hook... is a thing of beauty. For sure his ability to take punches has been impacted.
JuanMa has an super-impressive resume already, and it'll be even more impressive if he can somehow pull off the upset in June. I want it to happen... but of course I wouldn't bet on it.
