Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
I cannot find this fight anywhere at all. Wright really shellacked Trinidad all night long.
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Because it sucked royally.

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Maybe Tito bought the rights to it and burnt it so no one could see him embarrassed. Ray Leonard did the same with the macho man beat down he endured.

Not sure what was more embarrassing for Trinidad. Him getting humiliated by Wright or that stupid ass hair cut he was rocking

ODLH, Winky Wright, BH all humiliated Tito, proved how 1-dimensional he was as a boxer.
He was a come-forward stalker, that I give him and he was a great one at that. But when put with smart and versatile boxers he could NOT cut the proverbial mustard, and looked rather amatteurish, got hammered hard to the head over and over, though he kept coming forward, felt a little sorry for him the way Hop chopped him down step by step. It was brutal by about the 7th round, really brutal. Kinda like Lewis chopping down Tyson step by step.
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
I dont know what it is but I really enjoy seeing Tito get his ass handed to him, god I watched the Tito-Hopkins fight well over 20 times and that final left hook is always oh so sweet.

He broke him the down physically and mentally. Trinidad had power in both hands. But his biggest weapon had always been the left hook. Hopkins knew that. As soon as the fight started he took it away. Hopkins dictated the pace the whole fight. Hopkins easily took the first 5 rounds by schooling him. Trinidad just kept trying and trying to land his left hook. Thinking he just needed to land flush one time to change the momentum of the fight. In the 6th round he finally does. He catches Hopkins a couple of times against the ropes. Good solid shots. And Hopkins just took them and kept on doing what he was doing. Trinidad was mentally finished. And Hopkins knew it. Trinidad had hit him with his biggest shots and nothing. That's when Hopkins stopped schooling Trinidad and just started beating his ass. Hopkins had already broke him mentally and was destroying him physically. What made it worse for Felix was that not only was Hopkins bitch slapping him in the ring but his dad was bitch slapping him in the corner. That's what you call a bad night

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
I too love seeing that big-confidence making-faces proud fighter get his ass handed to him. Lovely indeed.

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Yeah, a total schooling by Winky... no doubt. One of 3 whole fights (all to HOF'ers) that Trinidad suffered in his whole career. Not bad for a "one-dimensional" fighter. First to Hopkins, one of the greatest middleweights of all time. Not bad for a fighter whose best weight was 147 pounds. And before that he destroyed another MW champion, William Joppy. Then came Winky, never knocked out in his career (like Hopkins), and having been in there with the best. No shame in losing to Winky either. Finally, against Roy Jones Jr. at 170, way above Trinidad's weight, and when both were pretty much over the hill.
And while DLH was looking for smaller and smaller fighters to end his career... the one-dimensional Trinidad was going for bigger opponents at higher weights. DLH can claim a MW championship, but is was a gift..... a joke. Trinidad truly beat a legitimate MW champion.... by KO, not a gift decision.
We should all have such lousy records. ;)

De La Hoya was more competitive against Hopkins than Trinidad was. And he took his last loss like a man. Didn't blame it on some fat whore who was having his kid

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
There's no shame for Tito to lose to those that he did, I just simply enjoy seeing it. I think its almost perverse whenever I see that left hook of Hopkins land I just have a gleeful smile on my face. I have no idea why, I hate David Haye and yet the feeling doesn't even compare to Tito's ruination.

VD... are you serious? I mean, forget animosities here. Just a difference of opinion.
But really??
Hopkins toyed with Oscar, till he floored him with a glancing blow to the liver.
Then Oscar made us laugh with his "banging the canvas with his glove in frustration" show.
How in fuck is that more "competitive"?
But never mind..... I know you're not going to agree no matter what.

Oscar actually won rounds. One judge had him winning before the stoppage. I don't agree with his card but the fight was still close. Trinidad did nothing against Hopkins but gets his ass kicked. The only round you can give him is maybe the first. But you can easily give it to Hopkins too cuz not much happened.
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
I don't know why you get on Oscar tito when he handed Trinidad his as and got jibbed. That was Trinidad's best win a fucking gift he got against Oscar should be thanking him more for it. As for Winky and Hopkins when Trinidad did not have the size advantage he was shit really.
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Hopkins carried ODH, that was the biggest fight in boxing history, Ring even bought out a special magazine for the fight. Hopkins was hoping for a rematch but Oscar fell down and cried like a bitch.

Biggest fight in history? It wasn't even close to being as big as Oscar-Tito (which sold/made much more) let alone bigger than Tyson-Lewis-Holyfield etc. Hopkins was "only" on $8million
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Any judge that had Oscar winning at the time of his stoppage against Hopkins was clearly on somebody's payroll and should have been executed on the spot. Oscar had a lot great fights, but none of them were at 160 or above. His fight with B-Hop was a travesty, and Master said it accurately when he stated that Hopkins was carrying Oscar. It looked fake... it smelled fake... it WAS fake. The glancing knockout blow to the liver was the coup de grace.
I'm not claiming Trinidad did that much against Hopkins, as B-Hop clearly dominated... but it was much more of a fight than Hopkins-Oscar. In short, Trinidad acquitted himself 100 times better than Oscar could ever dream of at 154 or 160.

In order for it to be a fight Trinidad would of had to of landed more than 5 clean punches. Which he did not.

Oscar accepted his loss like a man. Trindad came up with excuses like a bitch would
Trinidad: My mistress having a kid is why I lost to Hopkins
And here I thought he lost cuz he got his ass kicked
-
Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
LMAO!! Oscar's hilarious pounding of the canvas in "agony" was anything but "man-like".... give me a break. It even had people wondering about the fight itself.
Was Hopkins vs DeLaHoya a fix? - East Side Boxing Forum
did Oscar De La Hoya take a dive against Hopkins? [Archive] - Boxing Forum
And what boxer doesn't come up with excuses as to why he lost the fight? JCC Sr. was more of a bitch when he refused to acknowledge that Frankie Randall had kicked his ass. It happens when you lose your undefeated record.

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
Before this escalates, let me just say it's a matter of personal opinion.
You prefer your own idol, who pounded the canvas in a pitiful, chicken-shit, show that was ridiculed by the fans and press alike. If there nothing to question, no one would've mentioned it..... remember that. His adventure above 147 was a joke, just to say he had done it.
You also conveniently ignored my comment about ALL undefeated fighters making excuses when they lose their first fight. Just watch your other idol, JCC Sr., act like an idiot after losing to Frankie Randall.
I'll take Trinidad losing to Hopkins and going down fighting, rather than bitching out from a phantom liver shot, followed by an Oscar-worthy (pun fully intended) performance.
ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.
I say tomato...... you say tomatoe.
It's a never-ending difference of opinion and no one besides us really gives a shit.
So let's agree to disagree..... AGAIN.

So apparently there is something to question about Trinidad wraps since it was mentioned, right? Your words. Not mine. The discussion is about Del La Hoya and Trinidad. You bringing up Chavez has nothing to do with it. You do it cuz you're getting smashed it the debate and wish to change topic. Like you always do. I could of easily of brought up Juan Manuel Lopez blaming the ref for his loss. But we are not discussing Lopez.

It was hyped up that is all I was saying. Hopkins was toying with Oscar he could have ended it earlier but I think he wanted it to go to a points decision so he could earn another big payday. Hopkins was saying it in the interview after the fight.

It's one thing to make excuses in the heat of the moment like Chavez and Lopez did. To a degree it's understandable. Trinidad excuses didn't come in the heat of the moment. They came 9 years later. That's just being a bitch

If the fight would have went forward on the 15th, Trinidad doesn't think the final result would have been the same because he wouldn't have had all of the personal problems weighing heavy on his mind.
"if the fight had been on 15th, the story would have been different," Trinidad said.
That's a direct quote. Towers. Date. Whore. There was no excuse he wasn't gonna use

Re: Why is the Trinidad-Winky Wright fight impossible to find on YOutube?
well well well-------this is turning into some quarrel here.
I think Oscar got the wind knocked out of him, but at first it looked fake to me, as he saw he was not going to win and it is easy to fake getting hurt by a body shot---the view is not that clear and the replays dont really show the shot clearly. Looks a bit fake, but the pounding the canvass is not necessarily fake. Buster Douglas pounded the canvass for example when Tyson decked him in the 8th. I have seen fighters pissed off that they went down. etc. Oscar was never going to beat Hop, though he won 2 rounds in my book that night.
As for Trinidad, he fought like a warrior against Hop always coming forward, but he really and truly got his ass handed to him that night, lost every single round, but I gave him the 6th or the 7th I cant remember which right now. No offense to anyone---I just never liked Trinidad, I know he had plenty of KOs and was aggressive and exciting and never retreated....I just never liked him --- I just thought he was too obnoxiously self-confident like Prince Nassim or Muhammad ali, I dont like that type of personality. Oscar on the other hand was never that way, I found his postfight interviews very calm and frank, he had no problem admitting his faults or why he lost.
