Bad ass fight!

stiverne will destroy wilder. its a much easier fight for him than klitchko.
I have no idea why people are so sold on Stiverne off of one fight with Arreola (a guy who he was having real problems with IMO until he caught him with the hail mary right hand and shattered his nose).
Stiverne is the same guy who fought a close, compeditive fight with a 40-plus year old RAY AUSTIN a year or two back.
I say Wilder destroys Stiverne. I don't think this goes past 6.
I think Wilder stays in the fight for the distance. He will certainly pace this fight with Wilder. Could possibly win on points.
If Wilder ko's Stiverne in under 6, I would be TOTALLY shocked. But, due to the styles, Stiverne's strength, experience with taller guys, as well as his skill level and power, I see this being a distance fight- with sporadic and exciting exchanges, which will make this fight a 4 star out of 5 kinda fight.
It may not be a barn-burner, but it will certainly be enough for us to be entertained.
Well, well, well! It's about f..ing time!
Come on Bronze Mystery, make believers out of us.
I'm hoping Wilder gets another quick KO or goes the distance with a solid win.
Non-believers beware! Retribution is at hand. I hope, maybe....ah hell, please!
Can I be wet blanket here? Everytime Wilder wins Shaeffer says title shot in 2014. I don't believe it anymore. Wilder hasn't really even been in with live body. A jump from Firtha to Stiverne is BIG. It would be better for his development if he faced a guy like Travis Kauffman or Joe Hanks or Tor Hamer or maybe one of tough British heavyweights who get used as stepping stones these days.
It's time for Wilder to shit or get off the pot, he's fought enough stiffs, time to get in there with a real fighter.
Wet blanket?! Dude, you are like an ice cold shower on a winter morning, like a five gallon bucket of ice cold water--on a bare back--on a summer day, you are killing my high, bringing me down and I think you are enjoying it. Get off my back, Jack. Lol
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I will say that I know what you are saying. I remember the title shot we were promised for 2014 after the Liakhovich or it could have been the, lol, Harrison fight.
I'm just hoping the truth will show up, one of these days.
Wilder will need to show some depth and variation to win. If he does, it should be fairly easy.
Wilder should be winning this easily. Stiverne's so stumpy and static he'll need Wilder to voluntarily sit in the pocket to get any work done. Wilder 'should' have no trouble whatsoever controlling the distance and bombing Stiverne out of there after softening him up for a few rounds.
Is Stivernes jab remotely close to the one Firtha was able to touch Wilder with quite a few times? Wilders almost clumsy attack can be exploited and Stiverne doesn't mind slowing a pace and he can find more than a few short counters in there. The worse thing Wilder could do is think all he has to do is go bombing and he'll fall over like the other stuntmen Wilder has faced, and I haven't seen any indication of this pro ported accurate stamina proven boxer puncher. I hope he gets sparked frankly.
Wow, Im surprised Wilder is getting this fight. I would have thought there would be a few europeans higher ranked then Wilder to get a title shot.
I'll believe it when Wilder's actually in the ring with him
Stiverne is pretty good imo, he's just kinda lazy and looks to counter exclusively a lot. He can do that though, and he can move a bit, Wilder hasn't seen any of that.
If Wilder used his jab well and kept range to throw the right he'd win easy, but he didn't do that at all the other night and maybe isn't very good at it. If he comes in so sloppy again looking to fight I think Stiverne is well capable of taking him out.
Every fight I have seen o wilder he has been sloppy. That's why I don't think he's that good. He gets away with it cz he's fighting bums and clearly has power but I think when he gets in with someone with a pulse he'll be found out. I think Stiverne coul be that guy. He's technically good and as u said is a decent mover. If he can keep wilder off balance for a few rounds to take his power away he could be successful. On the other hand Wilder could tag him early an en it
This doesn't feel like a Heavyweight Title fight.
If anything it takes legitimacy away from the belt
I don't believe it.
I read the link, and the key words are "...is looking to match..." and "...my goal is to have..."
I'll believe it when I see both fighters walking toward the ring... and even then I might be a little skeptic.
Wilders next fight will either be against Chauncy Welliver or Bermane Stiverne, no one else. This comes from Wilders manager Jay Deas. Since I've never heard of Welliver and taking a look at his record he's lost to Solis and Sherman Williams, I'd hazard a guess that Weilliver will be Wilder's next opponent..
big step up for Wilder , will tell us a lot about him.
I hear you and halfway agree, but they have to let him step up sometime.
All these lateral and oblique moves are doing nothing for his rep, they have to know that.
Every time I see Wilder he looks unchanged, which means green.
Undefeated, 30 wins, 30 KOs is a good record, but you have to fight a live fighter for it to mean anything so I'm hoping they are through lying. Let's get serious, y'all.
Oh I agree wholeheartedly they need to step up.
I'm just no longer convinced they're going to go through with it.
Who knows.... maybe all he needs is to lose one time so his team will stop spoon-feeding him, and get on with bringing him along at a more normal pace.
Stiverne has a fucking chin of iron and yes he will take some bombs early but he will survive and Wilder isnt used to going long, Stiverne is the True HW Champ, undisputed soon, this cat will go to the top. he is my boy. He will be sittin on the throne by Summer '14, crowned the Haitian King of Pop, awesome massive man, deep well and heart, he is going to the top. Wilder is unimpressive, he is a charlatain and will not be around much longer.
