James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
We know he's been unhappy there for a while and frustrated at his lack of options. Looks like Big Mick only has the Fury's left.
EXCLUSIVE: James DeGale splits from promoter Mick Hennessy despite earning WBC title shot | Mail Online
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
I suppose he might line up with Matchroom short term to pave the way for a Groves - Degale rematch in a similar way to Cleverly has done to get a rematch with Bellew...
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
Absolutely the best decision of is career.
He has been absolutely shit his entire career, not because he is a shit fighter(but a bit boring) but because he has fought one pile of warm horse shit before, and since Groves.
He will be remembered in history as the guy who lost to Groves. I'd love him to, change that by signing with Matchroom.
He should avoid Groves like he owes him money though because Groves will beat him every time. Groves has grown since their fight but DeGale has if anything gotten worse.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
Why has DeGales wasted his time with a promoter, that simply seemed to devolve his carer,
Olympic Champion what's his name, the guy should have been a house hold name, SHIT it's
only us lot boxing fans that no him.
Wasted talent .:(

You couldn't make it up.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
I actually now like DeGale.
He seems tough and awkward and I think he would actually have an easier time against Froch than Groves would.
Groves relied on his quickness but that slowed as his stamina wore out. De Gale I feel could still be there making life awkward for Froch late in the fight and take a comfortable decision.

Degale would get knocked out, he's so boring

He would not get knocked out.
Even groves didnt get knocked out.
Froch would look even more awful against DeGale. Hes one dimensional but has stamina. He wouldnt have the same stamina advantage over DeGale.

Froch struggles against quick, defensive, "not aggressive" fighters like Ward and quick aggressive fighters like Taylor.
You are overestimating aggression, but DeGale has some very good tools.
I personally think he's just not good at using them.
Agreed.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
DeGale turned pro bells and whistles, best thing since sliced bread what happens , he fights
a old armature rival Groves, loses which I think he won Groves was very lucky.
This knocked the stuffing out of him,! he made himself look foolish leaves his promoter Fights
on CH5, lets face it more people would watch you fighting in your back garden, it's a fact what's
gone wrong a big ego poor judgment.
Ask the man on the street could they name Olympic Champions, doubt James DeGales name
would come up, sad but true will he be World Champion he may well be, boxing fans may
follow him, but will Joe public.!!!!!!!!
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
De Gale has to do what is best for him. I think the exposure on channel 5 has helped him look more humble and personable.
Who will he sign for? Warren again or Hearn on Sky?
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
DeGale is one of the worst Olympic champions to turn pro , he is garbage.

Glad somebody is speaking sense
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
Based on my observation of DeGale leading up to the Groves fight, I think he's pretty dumb.. like really dumb. Anybody know if he was a drug addict?
He is a below average fighter and he slaps like a girl..

He has below average intelligence that is for sure but he does seem to have matured unlike Froch who seems to grow thicker the older he gets.

Audley was the worst.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
DeGale has one disputed loss in 19 pro fights, is a former British and European champion, is the current mandatory for the WBC title and top five rated by three world governing bodies.
Saddo members - "He is a rubbish fighter"

Yes he is garbage - FACT.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
It was CLEAR DeGale didn't have a top quality camp- training, promoters, sparring partners, etc...
What he is doing is on sheer, raw, talent. Nothing else. You can tell he has not yet even PEAKED as a professional- he is not even CLOSE to peaking.
Someone needs to bring the best out of him... he has much more talent and determination to pull out of him.
Re: James DeGale leaves Hennessy Sports
He had some kind of groin injury for a couple of years after the Groves loss which affected his performances. He's supposed to have got over it now. He'll be desperate to sign for Matchroom especially if Groves wins.
