Master and I were discussing this a few days ago. Smoger wasnt payed off cuz USS isnt that relevant anyways but he definitely officiated with personal feelings and emotions up his sleeve..
USS' s struggles were well documented leading up to the bout. He never caught a break in his career and dude even talked about his ill daughter.
His wife was there to watch the fight with his sick daughter on her lap.. a lot of people saw that including Smoger and the judges and there is no way they didnt feel for him.. anybody with a heart would have symphatized them..
They clearly knew what was at stake for cunningham so smoger gave him a super long count while one of the judges fucked amir on the cards..

Mansour is nothing but a slugger to be sure and Cunningham is heaps better boxer.
But Mansour has the power and the strength and the chin so it would always be an edgy prospect this fight.
I think given the fact the evidence is in that the count was slow, even though it's the refs count that is in effect here, I think it should definitely be a rematch.
Why should Mansour miss out on a KO victory and sustain a loss instead just because the ref favoured USS?
At the very least, USS owes him another shot and putting him away!! Preferably with a ref that can count to ten quicker! lol

It was a bit of a long count. However thats not uncommon as it shows the ref wants to give the fight a chance. Mansour was outboxed though and it could easily be argued that it could of been called off when USS dropped him.

They were huge knockdowns, but Cunningham beat both and Smoger reffed the way he always does. If you watch the clock Cunningham was definitely not down for 10 seconds either time, whatever Smogers count was. Mansour never really hurt him again and he was the one getting beat up from then on, I doubt he actually believes he won.

Smoger's one of my favorite refs but he does show some favoritism towards certain fighters. I guess it's human nature to favor people your more familiar with...:-\

He would have if the count was fair. It was late in the round and smoger gave him over 20 seconds. If he got up within 10 and started the fight he would have got the 2nd KD quicker and then most likely a 3rd KD. Game over

Smoger remains one of the top men in the game and in a sport littered with half ass refs and Helen Keller judges we're fortunate to have him. I thought the count was accurate. Mansour would do better to absorb what he was dealt here and learn from it and revamp his wreckless approach. Dude was a total class act in the post interview so this just sounds sour grapes as those black bruises fade to yellow. This loss can do him a world of good.
