Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Gotta say I laughed watching him at Mondays press conference... he should have been more mindfull that kids were there tbh but he knows how to drum up interest and sell a fight to the man in the street.
Loads of my mates have been discussing it on facebook etc this week and are gonna watch just to see if Del Boy can shut his mouth up.
Thoughts?

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
A bit of both. Dont think he sells fights though as there isnt that much interest in this. Haye sold the Haye v Fury fight. General public just dont seem interested in this to me.
-
Hey man, I'm interested, the Brit heavyweights are always good for a laugh.
Inside the ring they're all business, but outside the ring it's like a soap opera, and entirely enjoyable to me.
Fury is a large part of that and I hope he has long and prosperous run. I don't think he will make it to the top but who knows.

I mean its not gonna generate the interest in the guys that dont usually watch boxing the way Froch Groves did or certain fighters like Haye can.

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
So far they've not sold half the venue out even though Warren has added a million undercard fights and they've done a million press conferences. (some idiots on here thought Fury sold the Haye fight ;D)
I think the general fan views Fury as nothing but a clown and Chisora - who according to him "made" BoxNation - has zero fans.
Personally I think it's a good rematch. I'll be watching.

Great title by the way. he certainly ain't clever, but although he's a cunt, he is a very funny, watchable cunt! I watched the press conference on you tube and to be fair, what the fuck are women and children doing at a press conference to promote a fight on cable tv after the watershed?
I thought the journalist was a bit of a prick really. no good preaching morals at a press conference for a fight and in that respect, Fury was right, if they don't like it , fuck off.
If Frank Warren, or the BBBoC want to have a word in his shell like , that's a different story.
I love watching and Listening to Fury, I think he is completely hilarious.
As a Boxer , I have to say I reckon Fury isn't that great , but he's better than Chisora who is crap! Fury will get found out, but not in this fight.
Until he does get found , we should just enjoy his comedy gold! ;D

Agreed! Wish we had some like him in the US.

Yea dead on. Ill enjoy the fight and the card. Heffron v Williams should be a cracker. Williams looks a good prospect and this is a good test. But Fury aint a seller like people think. It doesnt mean he wont go onto sell tickets but I think hell need to win a world title before shows he headline sellout big venues.

He's clever .....until he gets his ass beat. Not saying Del Boy is gonna be the one to do it, but very soon he'll catch some knowledge
-
Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
He is certainly not clever but nor is he a cunt. The fella is a bit of an eejit and a bit of a dirty clumsy fighter but I sense more idiocy than malice. I don't think Chisora is going to be the walk over people that others are predicting. Del boy has a ton of heart and will need to be put on his arse to be discouraged. Fury is big enough to do it and is lucky that Chisora does not carry much power. Unlike Wlad I can not see Fury learning how to protect his fragile chin once he steps it up and meets a decent boxer, or someone with real pop in their punches. His "fighting man" bravado will mean nothing if he can not beat the ten count and I can see that happening sooner, rather than later.

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
He's a bit of both IMO. He's definitely putting on a bit of an act, or at least accentuating his natural personality, and really I have nothing against that because boxing NEEDS interesting characters.
People talk about the sanctity of boxing, class, integrity, ect. That's not what sells tickets in the end.

Took the words out of my mouth. Fury is an absolute cunt,
but a rich one, so he does seem to do well, he's managed to make a career out of something I'm still not convinced he's very good at!
-
Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Best of both worlds eh, bit of both.
He's also not clever in failing to realize its a lost cause and he's looking like Friar tuck...just shave the head already. Now THAT would be a carnival look come to life!

He's Britain's version of Ricardo Mayorga a little. I was going to say Hamed but I think Mayorga is a more accurate comparison. Mayorga would do crazy shit like bring in golden chickens, smoke cigarettes walking to the ring, and I think he was recorded eating something while on the scale at a weigh in too. Fury flips tables over, sings before his fights in the center of the ring, swears at little kids, etc... They both do crazy shit and it's because, after all, they're not all that great in the ring. It's actually pretty impressive to be able to reach stardom doing something that you're really only slightly above average at ( at its highest level). I imagine Fury's career will go the route of Mayorga's. Mayorga was once quoted as saying something like " I would be fighting anyway, on the streets and in the bars of Nicaragua, I might as well get paid for it." How can you tune that out as a fan? The act ultimately catches up with itself though. I think it's pretty clever though at its peak.

Mayorga was undisputed weleter weight champion if the world. When he got his head down he was awesome.

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Class act not he may make whitey and funny comments, never heard Henry Cooper talk or act in
this manner , so is all this shit turning boxing into a gutter sport.
That is why the likes of Fury should take a leaf out of Ricky Burns book,! Ricky is a class act you
don't have to act like a A hole to be a fighter.!
In todays game it seems to be part and parcel, pity it's the fight I want not the :bs:.

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Like many huge guys, he is quite uncoordinated and certainly doesn't punch properly using his full body weight. I don't think his technique is great and he is not a natural athlete.
Having said that, he is truly massive and most definitely possesses a true fighters heart.
It been interesting following his career, whatever you think about the guy, he does make good copy

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
This will be on radio live
talkSPORT, the world’s biggest sports radio station, will broadcast exclusive live radio commentary of the upcoming huge heavyweight showdown between Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury.
The heavyweight dust-up between British boxing’s two most controversial stars, which will serve as a final eliminator for the chance to face Wladimir Klitschko for the world heavyweight title, continues a summer of marquee boxing events in the UK.
The fight will take place at the Phones4 U Arena Manchester on July 26 and talkSPORT will be the exclusive radio broadcaster. The commentary will be available on 1089/1053AM, DAB and online at talksport.com.
talkSPORT Programme Director Liam Fisher said: “Following on from Froch v Groves it’s great to continue to build the momentum in boxing. The sport is a huge draw for our listeners, and the clash between Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury is one of the most hotly anticipated of the year. After broadcasting every match of the World Cup live, this will be a fantastic exclusive broadcast on talkSPORT.
Fight promoter Frank Warren said: “I’m delighted talkSPORT will be broadcasting live radio commentary of this massive fight between Britain’s top two active heavyweights. Those that tune in to listen to Chisora v Fury will be in for a real treat as the fight is set to be an absolute cracker!”

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Fury is a cunt but he will beat the journey man Chisora on points, easy money bet i reckon.
-
Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Fury does talk some proper bollocks but he is at least funny,Chisora is as dull as dish water.

Not easy money, he could KO Chisora or Chisora could KO him but thats where my money is. He is 4/1 for a UD which looks a decent value bet
-
Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Great bet, don't think Fury has the punching power to KO Chisora,He throws too many arm punches, but has decent boxing skills,Chisora only has courage nothing else.

they aren't as interested that's for sure
haye is massive to the non boxing fan
fury is a clever cunt in some ways, but basically he is just being a total nob to try and get people to tune in
haye was often a nob but with a lot more charm

yeah I think the most likely outcome is fury on points
if chisora could hit harder I would be putting my house on chisora

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
Chisora is getting stopped early.

by the way my post above wasn't an attack on fury, I quite like what hes trying to do
but yeah if he does a massive number on chisora then maybe there will be a massive fight round the corner for him
I doubt he will but its possible

Im not sure. If I had to bet my house on any it would be 1-6. Chisora has been getting hurt by his last few opponents who weren't big punchers. Fury is getting sharper and will catch Chisora. If he hurts him I believe he finishes him.

I think Ali said something along the lines of "I said I was great before I knew I was".
Imagine Tyson Furys confidence, ego, brashness once he has a title! It will be hilarious and just what the division needs.
He will beat Chisora amd he will win a title. For all his (diminishing) faults he will be a hard fight for anyone and very difficult to beat because whoever faces him will have to get involved in a fight at some point because Fury presses the action.

Re: Tyson Fury - Cunt or clever...?
The most popular bet so far has been Chisora KO at 4/1 (now 7/2). I havent had a bet yet but definitely will be. A few that have tickled my fancy are Fury points at 9/4, Fury UD at 4/1, Fury to be knocked down and win at 5/1 and Chisora to score a knock down at 5/2.
