If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Would he avenge that defeat?
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Nope Khan beats some guys and loses to others , he has never chased a rematch with any of the guys that have defeated him.
Garcia wins by KO.
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Ok, here's the thing. Somebody please tell me the last time Khan beat a heavy puncher? (Don't let me quote his record again!)
And I wonder why he doesn't fight many big punchers? Strange that.
Yes, his last 2 fights have shown improvement , but let's put his opponents into perspective.
Collazo - decent but better days behind him.
Alexander - again , best days behind him and tailor made for Khan. It was a good win and the manner in which he won was very good. But I think everyone will agree, he was favourite before the fight, hence he should win.
Please let's not go off the top board as per usual!

Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
True, Khan looked great Saturday, and this is coming from a semi fan of his. To be honest, if Garcia looked like he has his last couple fights, I might lean towards Khan. Khans hand speed is amazing, I think he has improved enough to get Garcia as long as he doesn't make error and leave his Chin open. I think if he hurt Garcia and went in fir the kill he could make error and Garcia could flatten him. I don't think Khan would fare well against Floyd or Manny, anyone who can return that hand speed with better power would be too much for Khan. Not to take anything away from Khan but to see him blow away Alexander and then have all these calls that Khan, who himself said he has the best jab and is the best boxer alive, could take Floyd is a bit out of hand. I have to admit I would like to see how Khan handles Floyd's jab. If he could have an answer for it something interesting could happen. I just dint think Khan could keep the pressure on and after Floyd has studied him for three rounds that would be it. I bet Khan night be able to take a couple rounds early
With the recent discovery that Floyd and Lance Armstrong have been on the same medications does add a ripple to this. It is also a good thing that all of Mannys old samples which have been saved have proved him clean has restored faith in him. I don't know how this will effect @ruthless rocco but we all make mistakes and I have heard Rocco is preparing an apology. Funny how Rocco used Atlas as a source when Tyson has admitted going into fights high on Coke and pain killers.
I think if Khan doesn't reach to high he will have a great post showboating career and if he doesn't lose all humility I will continue to be a fan.
To be honest, if he does fight Floyd it definitely will be a fight I'll pay for. I guarantee the fight will be in Vegas. Whatever the ppv and ticket sales will be in England Floyd would end up losing money fighting outside of Vegas.
Khan would have just as much problem with Manny. Khan needs to stay in against opponents like Devon and a level or two better but couldn't handle the superstars until they get even older.

Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Khan beats Garcia next time. Garcia got a little lucky with Khan being too reckless. I don't rate Garcia who doesn't have very good footwork. Garcia would make a good Mayweather opponent too, the perfect feet to move around.

Where did you find the Floyd and Lance thing ? I haven't heard of that before , I'm interested.

Khan has showed great improvement on how he gets out after exchanges. But all fight I saw the same hole in him that lost him the first fight. Khans head is still and upright when he attacks. If you punch with him you can take him out. If you wait he will be in and out before you do a thing.
Garcia takes this lesson well. He would punch with Khan. The question becomes does he land. Khan would win the rounds but still if Garcia lands...

Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Khan by UD think Garcia is pretty much over rated he's only ever going to look good again people who stand right in front of him.
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Khan has improved with Virgill and would outbox Garcia with ease.

His team offered Garcia 1 mil for an immediate rematch which was turned down. It would have been a carrer high payday by far.
Khan stops Garcia or wins every round in a rematch. No doubt in my mind. He is all wrong for Garcia and pretty sure his team know that.

@ruthless rocco, just read what Lance Armstrong is saying about his buddy Floyd. Apparently they were using the same clinics.

That is one reason I used to dislike Floyd. When he was with Roach he wouldn't stop that showboating stuff and Roach made clear how much he disliked it. I think Khan has settled down a bit. Yes he has some arrogance but a little of that is probably helpful when you are in such a dangerous sport.

No... Tell me about when I quoted Teddy Atlas about Mike Tyson. @walrus
I've looked everywhere online trying up find Lance Armstrong talking about Floyd Mayweather. I can't find anything.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're so hot for Floyd Mayweather that you don't realize that Armstrong is talking about Floyd Landis--former teammate and steroid user who would have gone to the same clinics as Lance.

Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Kahn gets spanked again, chinney gobby braggart & I'm a Brit! Alexander is no front foot fighter, was not impressed with either performance kell brook will bring him down a peg or two I don't know a Brit boxing fan who has a good word to say about the prat. Mayweather & Paquao don't rate him Garcia would retire him, Kahn needs to fight Brook though 80,000 fans at Wembley want to see him flattened.
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
I see Khan winning a rematch :o
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Would be a very interesting fight! Khan has the ability to school him, but he couldn't afford to make the mistakes he ALWAYS does, so it's a toss up. Garcia is not well suited to fight a rangey boxer with good feet and timing imo, but he is a hard guy to attack as he can really punch with his opponent, so if Khan got sloppy at any point we could see a repeat.

Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
Once again Khan has the skills and ability to box the breaks off Garcia. The Khan that fought Alexander was different, did everything better from feet to posture and if he could match the focus he showed he'd wipe the floor with Garcia and most likely stop him.
-
Re: If Khan rematches Garcia what would happen?
If he fights outside of Ramadan, he would win a convincing UD- as he was well on the way before he got chinned, took to weak knees and then never recovered.
Khan on a full stomach beats the shit out of Garcia.

So because hes a gobby braggart hell lose? Makes sense. Id also like to point out that to most fans it clearly looked like Brook was ducking Alexander. Seems you just have an agenda against Khan rather than any meaningful boxing knowledge to contribute

100% correct. id have a massive bet on Khan if the fight was made and was anywhere near a 50/50

I don't know a lot about Islam but I was talking to a friend from Packistan last night and he said Ramadan starts in July so that would give Khan time to make another fight.I'd be interested to know how long it takes Khan to recover after Ramadan. The dietary restrictions are pretty intense for the month. Khan I'm sure has good nutritional staff so it probably isn't that long to recover.
I'm surprised so many here think Garcia would take Khan.I guess it would come down to Garcia's power and accuracy but don't think he has looked well his past few fights.
Brook would be an interesting fight. I imagine it would have England on an uproar and we here in the states would love to see the match up. It wouldn't surprise me if the fight took place in the us

Garcia wasn't beating Khan in their last fight.... Khan was weak as a result of Ramadan and got chinned and never got his legs back.
Khan on a full stomach takes a Garcia shot and beats the shit out of him over 12 rounds...

I hear what you are saying yk, I don't remember what month he fought Garcia but even if it was shortly after Ramadan I don't think Khan would risk going into the ring not feeling 100% but as I said I am not an expert on Islam or recovery after the dietary restrictions so you could have a point.

Started on the 20th of July, but he fought Garcia on the 14th. I may be wrong, actually... lolol....
