Broner called Garcia out for September. As much as I don't like Broner I can see many entertaining fights with the guy. This is one. Both guys have slow feet. Both can be hit. Both think they have more power than they really have. This could be a darn good fight.
After seeing Garcia last night I would make broner the favourite, is it just me or is Garcia turning to shit real fast
I wouldn't mind seeing this fight, but Broner calls everyone out and doesn't have any intention of fighting them. Also , Garcia and his old man have been talking up going up in weight. Can't see it happening.............unless there's another meaningless fucking catchweight with no title at stake! :rolleyes:
This is a fight that I am interested in seeing. I favor Garcia to whip him, but Broner is fast and could trouble him.

Garcia looked stale and phoned it in last night flat out. He needs to piss or get off the pot and move up full 147 already! But both he and Broner have gone a bit sideways in last few fights. Broner will stay in front of Garcia for the majority and he has been getting nailed with straight rights. His jab improved vs Molina but Molina was moving like he was wearing concrete shoes. If its not 147 Broner may prove to be too strong but can see Garcia hand speed being problem for Broner. Shit, lets see this fight. Good style fight and means one of these clowns will cancel the other out:-X. A win win.
I think if Broner boxes the way he did against Molina and comes that focused. He could very well beat Garcia. If he decides to brawl, Well I could see Broner being knocked down and lose a decision. Danny The Gift Garcia is OV in my humble opinion.
I see this a little different than most. Broner calls people out to get his name out there. But there are very few big names he can beat. Garcia has the name he needs and is vulnerable. It probably pays 1.8 and if he wins he could milk a couple more fights before he needs a name again. So it's probably worth 4.5 million to him. It's an ugly way to look at the sport but I can't see Broner looking at it any other way. And Broner also presents Garcia with a big name but also a vulnerable opponent.Quote:

I don't think Garcia was lucky in Khan and Lucas fights. Sure if Lucas eye didn't get so screwed up it would have been a different fight but Danny did inflict the damage, I don't think it was a clash of heads. Danny showed he has a he'll of a chin and a boatload of power against Lucas. At the time Lucas was knocking everyone out. Look how long it took for Khan to bounce back from the Garcia fight. He made Khan reevaluate his style and change everything. I'm a Broner hater but he looked good against Molina. Granted, Molina fought like carp looking for a shot that wasn't coming but still, a much more refined Broner. I think the whoopin Maidana put on Broner actually helped Broner out.
I don't understand Garcia, he has shown he can be a great fighter but his last three fights have been abortions. If Broner and Garcia got in a brawl Garcia may have a better shot but at this point I have lost my confidence in him. I still like him, when he was on top he remained humble, I always like that in a fighter. So when you compare each fighters last couple fights I'd have to say Broner has a very good chance but maybe Garcia needs a fight like that to light a fire under his ads, a fight like that and cut the umbilical cord with his father. He is becoming irrelevant while winning fights, I've really been scratching my head.
Agreed about it not being luck. If you try for a punch over and over and then land a punch it is not lucky. He took advantage of what was there. That is preparation and skill.Quote:

I want to see Broner vs Garcia, like several of you have already said stylistically it's a good matchup.
Garcia isn't much of a mystery to some. He does well against certain types of fighters or better yet even certain styles. He's a kid with a chin that bangs to the body and does better with types that bring the fight to him and under estimate his ability to counter. Mentally he's able to focus but subject to doubt. Khan couldn't hurt garcia but kept leaping his range and caught ugly counters. Garcia knew Khan would be there for the counter as long as Khan landed first. Matthysse did himself no favors by fighting the same way. Relying on his power and loading up instead of boxing more and throwing punches in bunches. So Guys like herrera and Peterson, that show Garcia that he's in for a long night by taking his punches and backing him can have their way mentally intimidate him. Even old zab took him into deep water by just not just forcing him to fight every minute of every round.
As for Broner, he could do ok if he lands something from front to keep broner honest. Otherwise, he can pick at the body from the outside. Its all depends on how broner uses his speed and keeps walking garcia down. Broners gotta walk into the fire in this one to keep the doubt in garcias mind and eventually out flash him. If broners content to sit back, hes going to lose. At the same time his style is not to bring garcia what what garcia needs to stay busy and confident. Whoever looses this one has a little climb ahead of them (even though it would be garcias first loss) because this isn't exactly a top tier fight.
Interesting fight though: The press conference alone with Garcias father talking all that noise and Broner stuttering for a reply would be a total circus. Garcia's a Philly fighter and probably sees plenty of the shell style.
I hear what your saying but the mystery is his inability to adjust. Not everyone is going to fight the fight he wants certainly not now that everyone can see what troubles him. We are talking three fights in a row, or is it four he couldn't make any adjustments. He still, by luck, maintains the belt but to be worthy of the belt he has to be able to fight more than one fight.
This is a good fight for both of these guys while they still have cachet. Neither of them is going to do a damn thing at 147 and neither of them can make 140 anymore. Garcia looks a shadow of the fighter he used to be. Broner hasn't looked anything special since before the Maidana fight. I have a feeling that it could be similar to the Garcia Peterson fight. Neither guy willing to go balls out to win and both trying to fiddle their way to a decision.
I guess its a matter of perspective and whether you believe he was making adjustments before. Me personally, I think Khan pressed his luck against garcia as garcia's game plan was to track down khan find his fragile chin and put a dent in it. Garcia kept missing khan by fractions of an inch before he finally landed. Some believe that khan was giving garcia an education before Garcia caught him. I think it was case of garcia playing dumb in that they knew he would have to take some punches to land some counters so that's what he did. The sight of khan on rubber legs and splayed out on the canvas kind of erased any damage garcia took before that and cast him in this overnight sensation kind of light.Quote:

So off that Haymon decides that garcia lost his luster and the magic is wearing off and sets him up with an unranked fighter coming up from a lighter weight that Garcia just loaded up all day and Gamache'd in like 2 rounds. For me its kind of smoke and mirrors.. not saying its all haymon orchestrated... im just saying that when you look at the guys he had trouble with:
Bloated Morales (First fight)
Old Zab (Aged and Chinny would eventually fade, allowing youth to catch up)
Herrera (Didnt read the script)
Peterson (hard worker but i think they believed if Matthysse caught him, they could too)
With those performances, I wouldn't have expected him to have a high boxing IQ. If he isn't stylistically spoon-fed, I think hes prone to having an average night if you take away the glitz. I wouldn't really call the belts luck either. Catchweights the last 2 times to keep him from losing the belt on the scales.
Danny reminds me of a fighter that needs a new trainer.

I would bet on Broner, I think Garcia is overrated. Reminds me of Jake Rodriguez back in the 90s. Decent fighter with solid skills, not quite world class, who was in the right place at the right time and capitalized on guys taking him lightly.
I'm not a huge Broner fan but I think he will have too much for Garcia, and Garcia won't be mobile or fast enough to win. Would like to see the fight though and think it will be a good one.
