Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Just seen floyd say possible berto or mayfield next. What use think ? I'm all for him having an easy fight but these two are are just shit. There's no way these fights sell.
-
Every fight some crap opponents get leaked and people gasp but it's never them. Remember when he was "going to fight Morales"? Paulie? Alexander? Spadafora? Alvarez when he had fought absolutely nobody? Just have to wait for an announcement. I assume Berto and Mayfield are Haymon fighter, might as well get them some publicity before the real name is dropped.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
He was clearly joking when he said that lol
-
Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
He even offered the fight to De La Hoya but De La Hoya said hes retired and not coming back. He was definatly joking when he said about Berto and Mayfield though. Its going to be Brook, Khan or Thurman IMO.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Keep an eye on whoever Berto fights next. Floyd might just fight that guy.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Or is Broner the new Berto?

I was thinking there is a pretty good chance Floyd would fight Porter if he beats Broner as well. The timing works, Porter would have buzz for beating Broner, and it's not a fight anyone is going to ridicule.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
if broner is the new berto I wouldnt argue with mayweather fighting porter
porter's smash um up style might make for an interesting fight

Who the F**K is Mayfield ?
I'm no boxing nerd, but I'd like to think I've heard of most fighters who are coming up or half way decent. But I've never even heard of this Mayfield dude, yet he could face Mayweather. I'm mean, nothing will top the hype of Mayweather-Pacman, but this like dating Adrianna Lima, then dumping her and moving in with Roseanne Barr.
Andre Berto ? A guy that's lost three of his last six fights ? I mean. Cmon
I mean - You can't begrudge Mayweather for taking an easy fight, as he's been fighting the best guys out there for the past 17 years, but if he and the money team and showtime think ppl will just gladly dish out the PPV money for this ? Then they could be mistaken

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
"Of course Mayweather was being sarcastic, but some writers present were gullible enough to believe he was being serious."
And some Saddo posters too, LOL
-
Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Lol he did sound quite convincing he was saying he might need to fight an easier fight before he goes for the big 50th fight and we all know he's going for 50-0

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Sadly, if not a Manny rematch, it will be either Khan, Brook, Garcia, Bradley or Thurman.
I'm not even gonna say Cotto rematch or GGG. That is just not happening. GGG is too big, and Cotto has other options. Most of which is Alvarez (Canelo), GGG and Andy Lee.

Why sadly? You honestly think Pac has more of a chance than those guys?
He had his shot and he came up a mile short. Time to move on and give someone else a chance.

The sooner the negative and overpaid fraud retires the better.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
If Porter beats Broner thats who it will be and most likely Oscar on the undercard.

Fraud?
How?
Back those words up masterclass.

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
He needs to fight Thurman, Brook or Khan next. If its anyone else it has to be at a higher weight
-
Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
If you believed this you should question yourself.
-
Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
Did this come from Berto calling Mayweather out, telling him he 'doesn't need all that' about his money and cars?
The only way Mayweather fights Berto is if he tries to steal his parking spot

Re: Mayweather looking at berto or mayfield
I dont think any of those names stands a chance of beating Mayweather and thats what is going to sell. Fighters that punters believe have a genuinechance of beating Floyd, not just possibly winning a few rounds or pushing him a bit but actually beating him.
Thatwill only come at middle weight.

Cotto would never fight Mayweather now.
Can you imagine them two bitching about what catchweight and rehydration limits to set? Let alone who comes in to the ring first, again.

Simple formula:
Floyd = most $ per boring rounds

I think Cotto absolutely would fight Floyd without much bitching. It just a case where he wants the most money he possibly can to finish his career. Alvarez in the best case scenario doesn't present half the payday, and the weight would actually be really important in that fight, wheras Floyd isn't naturally bigger or likely to seriously hurt him in any case. Literally anyone in boxing would fight Floyd at this point, is so worth the damage you'll take it's ridiculous.

Here's the footage from Floyd's interview... judge for yourself whether you think he was serious.
