Loma KO's him no question
Linares would make easier money fighting Corolla et al than Loma. Linares has been through a lot of wars and would get cut up if he faced him.
Loma's one of the most accurate punchers in the sport right now. I could see him winning by stoppage.Quote:

Have to echo the above. Linares for as sharp as HE is has can be rattled by loopy or far less seasoned hitters. Combined with Linares chin and heart to pay it back, Loma would be a step ahead and have laser sighting on his shots.
Arum has said Loma's next fight will definitely be at 135 and that he has no problem making a Linares fight. I'm sure they would like to match Loma with Beltran, should Ray win the title but the timing may be slightly off. I would prefer to see him face Berchelt, then move up for Beltran, Linares, Garcia etc.

It sounds like this fight is not entirely dead yet. Amazingly it sounds like all parties are working together to try and get this done. The talk is to have Loma vs Linares on ESPN and lead into HBOs replay if GGG/ Canelo.
This is great news and could lead to other big things in the future.
Alpha, HBO isn't going to go for that, it's a fake offer. HBO would like to have that fight as the lead in on HBO. And they are willing to pay more. But Bob says it has to be on ESPN for less money
I'm just saying what I've heard, apparently it was GBP that contacted ESPN to get them to start the show earlier. This would lead into HBOs live broadcast of Ali/ Smith with the GGG/ Canelo replay.Quote:

Bravo to GBP for their efforts. But I just don’t think Bob wants this for many reasons. Bob has about 800k to work with for each ESPN card, entire cards. He’s already in the red just paying Loma, every extra bit they pay an opponent is more that comes off other cards. Beltran is an easier and cheaper fight to make. We knew before that GBP wanted it by their “we will fight on the 12th on HBO or literally any other date”. Does Bob want to go 1 million in the red to make a Linares fight?Quote:

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just glad that it's not entirely off the table yet. It's a very good fight. Apparently fighter purses had already been worked out and agreed on, but there were still some things to sort out. Both fighters want it, I hope everyone can come to terms and get this done.Quote:

Linares, okay, if May 12th has to be on HBO per my contract and they agree to pay more anyway. Bob, no, HBO must agree to let one of their fighters fight off their Network and you need to take less money to be on ESPN
Linares, okay, I'll take less money and fight on the one day I couldn't and HBO agrees to allow but can't conflict with their programing. I've agreed to everything, is it good to go? Bob, no, now ESPN must agree to move their programming around.
