Wlad should NOT retire..
There are so many options for him if he decides to continue with his career..
He may be 41 but he still beats the majority of heavyweights around today.
Get back in the mix Wlad, and fight again in October..x1 tune up and retire at 44.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
The Wladimir Klitschko we saw today has slipped a bit, but he would still beat any heavyweight except Anthony Joshua.
Instead of retiring, he should take on somebody easier like Joseph Parker.
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
He could beat quite a few people still, I dont think he is totally finished but in my opinion he has been showing his age since the povetkin fight, against jennings he looked bad too. He could still beat wilder or parker with ease I think but why bother he knows he has lost the last two to the two best of division he'd only be fighting for money now and that is always a dangerous plan for an ageing fighter.. Wladimir has won enough times before a win against parker or wilder doesnt mean too much to him.
although i am pretty sure he has 2 or 3 fights left on his german tv contract so....................................

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Wlad is an all time great he can do whatever he wants right now everything is icing on the cake
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
There's no doubt in my book that Wlad could beat Parker or Wilder, but they'll probably avoid him after that. And the thing is , that the reason that Wlad has had the career he's had is that he didn't think anyone could beat him these last 10 years, he knew he was no.1.maybe he can't motivate himself to be "2nd best."
Having said that he may wish to honour his TV contract.
I would respect whatever decision he makes.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Eddie will not want an immediate rematch.

What would you want him to do?

Eddie will probably bring back Charles Martin for a highly deserved rematch.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Wlad has nothing left to improve his standing. What would he fight on for?
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Wlad should seek a rematch with Fury. If he fights Fury like he fought AJ, Fury goes back into mental depression.
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
i think Wlad proved more tonight than he did in most of his other fights that he won. Ironic really, we've all heard it, his losing battle was his finest effort.
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
If Wlad wants to I think he should fight on. He proved he is still one of the best heavyweights around. Lets see if Briggs is still keen to fight him.
-
Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Fury is the linear champion , however I don't think he will ever fight again so it really is irrelevant.

That version of Wlad would beat Wilder.

Yep nothing left to prove. Can retire now knowing he's done it all

2 things, 1)no guarantee the version from last night would get in the ring in the next fight and 2)beating Wilder doesn't do anything to improve his standing.

Agree on number 1 but winning WBC sets up a nice rematch with the incentive of final unification and the motivation of revenge.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
I hope he jacks it in, losses against Fury and AJ are nothing to be ashamed of and he can walk away with his head held high, another loss against Wilder and that is three on the bounce, a win against Wilder and he is setting himself up for another bout against AJ which I can't see him winning, a loss against Parker and he is finished and retires as an old man

Wlad would beat Parker with relative ease.

I agree but where does the win get him?
Absolutely nowhere is where it gets him, the dude is 41 now, its a pretty large ladder to climb back up at his age , I'd much rather him go now.

I am sure you and Eddie would love for him to retire. Wlad gains a title and can then seek a rematch and revenge.

HA taking my promoters hat off all roads lead back to AJ and I just don't see wlad winning, I was tipping him to win last night (only marginally) but even then I saw that as one final hurrah, Fury and AJ are classed as the best of the new breed let him go out with that rather than risking it against 2nd rate opposition.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
Watch AJ's next defence against second rate opposition.

Not sure what AJ's next defence has to do with Klit rebuilding a career after over a decade of being at the top

If Vital I was 15 years younger he would have been after AJ for beating his little bro.

If my grandma had a cock then she'd be my grandpa
Are you purposely not making sense?

Succeeding.

Re: Wlad should NOT retire..
I think Wlad with the mind set he had coming into this fight and if he can stay motivated I see him as a threat to anyone at heavyweight. AJ included. I'd favor AJ in a rematch but Wlad showed Joshua is vulnerable and almost pulled off the upset.

The big questions are does Wlad have the desire to put his body through that again and has he the motivation to get up in the early morning leaving his hot wife to go for a run. He has all the money in the world and loved by millions.
Counter that with he admits he has a big ego and another £20 million in the bank will not hurt either.

Yeah I see where your coming from although he had all that coming into this fight and many questioned if he was serious and why he was even bothering. I think the Fury loss and this performance have ignited a fire in Wlad and his twilight may burn a little while longer. He showed he still has something left.
