Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
I won't and I encourage people to not pay for it either. Watch it for free if you can. Don't give this a dime of your hard earned money. You are better off buying a case of beer and some fireworks for the backyard!

I hope the fight bombs and they all go broke.

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Unless there is an absolutely amazing undercard that I don't want to miss then I'll not be paying.
The chances of an amazing undercard are between slim and none so I can quite confidently say I'll not be paying.
I might stream it if I'm awake at the time but I'll not be setting any alarms for it.
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Anyone that pays for this is too dumb to know what streaming is....
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
I doubt it. There's a chance that there will be enough interested people around me that want to order it so I may chip in a bit for it. My main problem is that I can pay a few dollars but really more than that is getting ridiculous.

not really I will pay for it cos its cheap and steaming isn't good quality.

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
If I'm awake I will stream it. No cash from me
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Who ever pays to see a novice get carried and Porter vs Dulorme on a $100 ppv card needs help. I'll be sitting right here watching Cotto v Kamegai card in some otherwise empty thread ;D.
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
In uk if you fancy it last minute then £20 is not a lot really.
But $100 fuck me
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Not even going to watch it. I am genuinely not interested and have avoided most of the propaganda. Like Spic I will watch the Cotto fight and ignore the pantomime. Honestly, shame on anyone wasting a substantial amount of money on the fight. You could buy a present for your kid instead or invest it. To spend it on a shit fight between two con artists would be pathetic.

the UK price hasn't been confirmed yet. There have been rumours of it being £60 - £80.

Likewise. I can always watch a rerun of the circus later for free.
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
But, a sucker is born every minute. I would assume non-fight fan regulars will pay for this. This is who Floyd flams all the time.
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
if it had some cool stuff on the undercard I might depending on how much beer I have drunk :S, it would have to look better than the canelo cotto undercard though(it had rigondeaux and vargas v miura), so really I would buy the undercard and the main event would be a weird and funny sideshow... but badou jack and gervonta davis isnt enough for me to buy it and considering cotto v kamegi will be on normal hbo then the chances of me buying it are very low
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Definitely not paying for it. Seems like deluded MMA fans will be where the money is made and gullible casuals believing Floyd when he says it's going to be a 'toe to toe' battle.

no chance of that being charged over here - will only sell to the hardcore and reduce buys massively
It will be 5 in the morning after all
£20 max

Floyd never goes into a toe to toe battle and very rarely knocks out anyone.

I think you're forgetting the Ortiz fight.........
-
We'll get it at my Dad's. No way to stream it with the slow internet there as it's a rural area and it'll be THE event to get. I teach high school so my 11th grade shits will be all about it im sure. I'll have to watch to then politely tell them, "I told you so." (School starts back up in 2 weeks...)

yes and Ricky Hatton.

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Only if George Foreman versus Larry Holmes is on the undercard
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
Well sky have won the contract to show it.
Eddie has already said that Floyd wants them to charge £100 PPV in the UK but Eddie has said there is no way it'll be that much and whilst Sky want to charge £30 he can't see it being any more than £20.

Does Eddie really have a say? Does he really care?

No he doesn't have a say, he said something like 'sky will want it to be £30 but it won't be that much that isn't their price point, it will stay at £20' he did say that he doesn't actually have say in it.

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
found the quote, I wasn't
Quote:
“Mayweather wants the price to be £100.”
But Hearn doesn’t believe the price will be above the normal price for a PPV.
“The price will be within the same realms as it always has. I don’t set the price, but my gut feeling is £19.95.
“If it went to £24.95… I can’t see it, it wouldn’t be my decision. Sky won’t want to go beyond £19.95. That is their price point.”
I thought he said Sky wanted £30

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
No fucking way will I pay.
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
I'd rather pay £50 for Golovkin-Canelo than £5 for this.
I'll certainly be streaming it though or listening to the radio.
No PPV has a single thing to do with "hardcore" fans that's the whole point. Given the choice how many people on here (the "hardcore") would buy the awesome SuperFly card coming up in September over this pantomime shit? A handful at most.
Lets be honest, there's "hardcore" and then there's "hardcore." Just look at the threads/interest in this fight compared to everything else. We can't stop talking about it, more here will watch it than any other fight, and more would buy it over most "hardcore" cards
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
people are talking about this fight more than others because its easy to talk about
its easy to have an opinion
and the opinion doesn't have to have any technicality about it, doesn't require any effort
if you get a 50/50 fight between two top boxers how much is there to say and what can you say that doesn't require some technical knowledge
this is one of the most skilled boxers of a generation fighting a complete novice (who a number of us may even be able to take a round or two from) for millions and millions of pounds, its easy to laugh
doesn't mean that the people talking about it aren't "hardcore"
and, if interested, I wont be buying it, even if it was on at a reasonable time I wouldn't, the undercard is also currently average
-
Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
I never said you're not "hardcore" for talking about it, on the contrary, just hardcore fans have nothing to do whether or not something is PPV.
One mans "hardcore" is another mans "casual."
Choco-Srisaket or Floyd-Mc? More "hardcore" fans will watch the "joke" fight than even know the first one is happening let alone watch it. Many of us will watch both.

Re: Be honest with me- Who's paying for the Mayweather/McGregor fight?
I would pay if I wasn't living in a hotel (house burned down) just being honest. I waste money on coffee, energy drinks, food I don't need, music and other things. The haters will say you could spend that money on something for your child or invest blah blah.... that's a wad of crap. I won't stream it because I've found a better way to watch fights now. But if I was at my house on the couch sure I would pay.

Lets hope you do not move into your house by 26th August and have your TV set up. :)

True. Shows you how conditioned we are and can become, huh?
