Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Well, we know Beterbiev probably sparks him clean out in 5, maybe less. But, what for Beterbiev AFTER this?
LH looking REALLY good now. The lane is open to unify since Ward dropped the belts. Stevenson wants mandatories, so it looks like Beterbiev will have an easier time getting the IBF/WBA/WBO belts before Stevenson takes him on in any showdown.
Thoughts?

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. 11/11/2017
Kovalev should pick up the vacant WBO so I'd love to see that unification, although I don't want Gvozdyk missing out on a shot at a belt either.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. 11/11/2017
There are tons of good fights at LHW. He shouldn’t be hurting to get a solid fight if he wants one.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. 11/11/2017
Beterbiev will get a strap and then take on Kov.
That would be great fight to see.
Adonis can rot away for all I care.

If he gets past Alvarez he needs to unify, Jack might get him first before that could happen tho.

Normally once becoming a champion you get a couple of voluntaries and then work on unifications. Good fights to be made and good money hopefully for Beterbiev.

Or at least defend against your mandatory. Alvarez has been waiting on his mandatory for ever.

Stevenson has done nothing to try and unify or make competitive fights. He should be embarrassed with his reign.

Not at all, as well as trying to fight Monaghan.

Will the WBC force him to fight someone??? I would make him fight someone and if he does not strip him!

Supposedly fighting his mandatory Alvarez early next year.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. 11/11/2017
Former World amateur Champion Artur Beterbiev challenges for the vacant IBF World Light-Heavyweight Title against Enrico Koelling.
Beterbiev (11-0, 11 KOs) has been fast-tracked to a World Title after just 11 fights, which speaks volumes about his reputation. He has already fought two former World Champions recording early knockouts against Tavoris Cloud and Gabriel Campillo in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
His opponent Enrico Koelling (23-1, 6 KOs) will be looking forward to testing his boxing skills against the Russian. The German fighter has only a single loss to Mirco Ricci back in 2015 and recently recorded back-to-back wins over rated contender Ryno Liebenberg in the last year.
The packed Light-Heavyweight division has been blown wide open after Andre Ward’s shock retirement, so Beterbiev will want to bank his 12th KO in a row and win a World Title that will catapult him to the summit of the division.

Beterbiev looks like a monster and has had a hell of a time getting fights lately. He should win by KO tomorrow and then have a belt. I've been thinking about going to see him fight tomorrow live as it's not far from me, but I don't know. I should.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
This also airs on ESPN but is preceded by College football...Alabama at Mississippi State :p. I like Beterbiev but he needs some serious activity and progression going on 32 years old. Koelling if anything absolutely dwarfs Beterbiev in rounds.
It also runs directly up against the Jacobs-Arias HBO card so cue the channel flipping.

Saucedo just scored a nice 3rd round ko.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Robert Garcia's young fighter Bryan Lua looked good winning a 4 round UD.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Koelling basically in survival mode from the beginning.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Good to see Brian Kenny calling fights again, always thought he was quality.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Koelling going into a shell against the ropes for long periods, then will throw a shot or 2. Not winning rounds at all but looking for a surprise hail mary.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Boring fight. 7-0 Beterbiev.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
To steal a lne from Spicoli, it's all rinse and repeat from Beterbiev. He's not trying anything different to get this guy out of here. Koelling has no power and not much is coming back at all. Artur may be thinking 'just get the belt, impress next time'. It's a little disappointing tho from what most assume id the monster of the division.

Flipping back and forth but man the last thing I expected was hearing booing in a Beterbiev fight. He is literally sparring him a bit..damn just popped his bubble! Better late than never I suppose with ko. Hard to gauge off this one.

KO in round 12 for Beterbiev.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
At the anthem for non main event 'main event' Ramirez v Reed. ESPN stretching this lead up a looong time waiting for Jacobs to ko Arias ;D.
-
Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
Ramirez crushed Reed in 2 rounds.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
The Beterbiev fight wasn’t too exciting but props to him for putting on the pressure and finishing the job in the 12th.
Ramirez should KO Imam in their fight. I’ve never been impressed with Imam.

I tend to agree. Imam is flashy but his chin won't stand up.

Anyone else find the arguing between Atlas and the new espn broadcaster awkward but entertaining? Everything the guy said pissed Teddy off from the get go of answering a question meant for Teddy. Lol

I would have loved to see that, I think we get the box nation commentators but have not seen the fight yet.

Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. Box Nation-Espn 11/11/2017
I'm just catching up with this fight. Beterbiev not exactly pulling up trees against a guy picked for him to look good against. Does anybody know the latest with the Beterbiev promotional situation? His previous promoter is suing him I know claiming he's still under contract so maybe it's going to end up like a Ricky Burns situation where his previous promoter gets awarded all the money he's made.

So who got a slice of Burns money?

Warren. Hearn and Burns' manager told him he wasn't under contract to Warren and he could fight on a Matchroom card, a court decided he was. Warren was awarded everything Burns was worth and more plus all his lawyer fees, court costs and so on. Hearn of course didn't cough up any money to help Burns out as far as I'm aware.
