Some of you have Parker to win...
You're stupid if that's the case. AJ is gonna mop the floor with him. Beat him worse than Whyte.

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
Samoa Joe is going to do a haka and scare Joshua into submission... If leapai had went the haka route instead of the Samoan bowler then Samoa would already have had a unified champ

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
A thread to tell people they're stupid for doing something they haven't done.

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
I think Parker has speed and youth , he does bring a good chin and can give Joshua problems he hasn't dealt with before.
Will that be enough ? well we will have to wait and see what happens , also Joshua brings things to the ring Parker has not seen either.
All in all its an interesting fight.

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
AJ wins by KO in round 7.

Let’s not confuse Parker with David Tua...

He must be talking about another boxing site.

I've just had a message come through on my phone saying that the majority of people are putting their money on Parker to win

Joshua vs Parker: Bookies reveal majority of punters are backing Joseph Parker to beat Anthony Joshua https://t.co/jaVT8qiBww
Haven't read it, just saw the headline

I opened it and then realized it was The Sun and nearly punched my screen in! Nobody will back AJ at 1/9 , you would have to put down a fortune to win enough for a pina colada!
I would be willing to bet that if you asked all of the people who have backed Parker who they honestly think will win the fight, at least 90% would say Joshua. It's something that gamblers do a lot . They're looking "for the value bet." I even pointed out @Silkeyjoe doing it the other week and he works in the betting industry!!!!!!!
it ain't no value if the guy you've bet on gets laid out cold!

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
Can’t say I’ve seen anyone picking Parker to win. And saying anyone that thinks he could pull it off is stupid seems a bit much. Joshua isn’t infallible. He can be beat, he can be hurt, he does have flaws. Is Parker good enough to take advantage of those? Most likely not. I expect he’ll be game, busy and durable enough to take it late but ultimately he’ll be a level or 2 below AJ and get taken out in the 9-12 range.

Exactly, anything can happen in that ring, especially with the big men. I don't see it happening but it's not impossible.

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
Joshua should win this inside of 2 rounds...
-
Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
People backing Parker are not idiots, it's price related not even money, they are not betting £10 to win £10, they're betting £10 to win £70.
I can make a "value" case for backing Parker around 7/1 - You have a 26-year-old in his prime, unbeaten title holder, who has proven he can defend his title away from home, has never once been on the deck let alone stopped, has a 75% sparko ratio, has ended 15 of 18 inside 4 rounds, has successfully won over 12 rounds four times and has proven himself over a variety of styles - from Takam to Dimitrenko to Hughie.
Joshua's flaws - Chin? He's been down and badly rocked. Stamina? He noticeably has slowed, losing rounds through lack of activity a couple of times. Speed? He looks the slower, less fluid mover of the two.
At the odds there's plenty of upside in Parker.

The geezer who is 10/1 on! Of course.
"Value" is determined by whether or not you're betting the correct price, it has nothing to do with the actual price (10/1 on is value in one situation and poor value in another). Now traders (like Silkey) are maths geeks working to margins, percentages and will have ratings, models and whatnot.
In its simplest form - "value" is determined by whether or not the punter thinks the bookie have set the odds correctly. So if I determine Parker is a 5/1 shot and the bookies offer 7/1 I have a "value" bet based on my judgement. If they make him 3/1 I have no bet. Now whether or not my judgement is any good is irrelevant, if it is l'll earn money if it's not i'll go skint. Simple.

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
There is too much at stake for AJ to lose this fight. The money to be made against Wilder will be bigger. May even become obscene like Mike Tyson money. Plus AJ is fighting at home. They are gonna do what it takes to ensure he gets a win.

I get all your points, and don't get me wrong because I'm a bit of a hypocrite seeing as I have had bets based on "good Value" myself.
but let's be honest with ourselves and look in the mirror , and we will see that you can "think" that a bet is value as much as you like, but if you "know" it's a losing bet, it's not value, it's just throwing money away.
Like I said , I've done it , Silkey who you mentioned has even done it himself, hell, we've all done it!
My point is how fucking warped is the human mind , and how fucking stupid are WE?

It depends how serious you bet (and i'm not talking about being a pro gambler). It's pretty common for regular bettors to keep records, with the longterm being the goal. Silkey will be the first to tell you people know more about boxing than him but he'll successfully take money from them because they don't understand odds.
A tipster could select 10 from 20 winners yet show a loss, whilst another backs 1 from 20 yet shows a profit. If you are betting on things that are the wrong price, under the odds, you are throwing money away, for sure.
I've had far too many last fence falls and blacks off their spot cost me fortunes (relative) to believe in certainties :D

Re: Some of you have Parker to win...
I expect AJ to outbox him for a few rounds he gets KO or the ref stops him taking a beating.

Ive backed Joshua points here at 6/1.

I don't think Parker has the power to keep AJ off of him for 12 rounds. If he runs like he did with Ruiz, he is gonna lose rounds.
