    Default Taylor v. Froch

Froch v. Taylor is on for Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut:Froch vs. Taylor - Contracts Signed, Fan Friendly Tickets - Boxing News.

    Carl Froch
    v.
    Jermain Taylor.

The co-feature is Allan Green v. Carlos De Leon Jr.

    Allan Green
    v.
    Carlos De Leon Jr.

I'm aware the topic has been discussed, but in brief, who do you pick to win and why?

My initial thoughts: JT has too much experience for Carl and will win on the cards. The Cobra, however, will give a good showing and gain notoriety even in loss. Allan should decisively beat Carlos to get back into the mix at 168.

I'll be there. Anyone else heading that way?

The tickets r well cheap $200 for ringside. Should be a decent fight, iam sitting on the fence abit longer for this 1.

If Taylor works his defense as he did in the Pavlik rematch I think he will beat Froch on points. I like Froch but he holds his hands way too low and I think Taylors jab and handspeed will pick him apart. I will be rooting for Froch but I think Taylor will beat him. Should be a good fight though Frochs been after this kind of big fight for years and now its finally coming it will be interesting to see how he performs on the big stage.

Well, I gotta say i'm lookin forward to this one. Glad Froch finally has a chance to prove himself.

I think taylor has some excellent skills, much slicker than Pascal and better than Froch has faced before no doubt. Despite this, i don't see Taylor being able to take punches like Jean Pascal shipped as long as Froch can get close enough.

I'm gonna go for a Froch win by KO, if Mr 2D Pavlik can beat Taylor by knockout, then so can Froch.

This is a career defining fight for my man and hes not going to be no push over I can tell you that for nothing. Taylor from what ive seen doesnt like punchers who come for him and apply the pressure. Carl will be doing this from round 1 and Jermain will have to work for every min of every round. One of Taylors main problems recently is his stamina, he gets tired and his work ethic falls because of that. Carl is going to face his problems early in the fight and like Pavlik in the first fight if he can weather the storm hes going to cause big problems when the rounds progress.

Carl will apply a lot of pressure in the fight and I personally dont think Taylors defence is this best and if he gets caught hes going to face a lot of problems from Carl. If Carl gets silly and doesnt apply the pressure with good powerful combinations he will lose a UD here from the slickness of Taylor. But I personally dont believe Taylor will be able to win every round by using his speed because he does have stamina issues which carl will expose in this fight.

Taylor also likes to get involved, we have seen natural 154 fighters give him problems. Carl is a massive 168 fighter and Jermain will never have faced somebody as strong as Carl IMO. If it goes toe and toe and I have a feeling it will I think Carl will be far too much for him and he will stop him.

I have a firm belief that we will see the best from Carl Froch but he has to use his head. Jermain Taylor is a very good fighter but he has his flaws, I know Carl will use his strengths against them and stop Taylor in this fight.

Comfortable win on the cards for Taylor, he's just got too much for Froch, who I hopefully won't have to hear too much more from after this.

I couldn't be happier about the fight or location. I can be there to watch Taylor batter Fraud all the back to Nottingham. Froch barely scraped by Jean Pascal. Taylor is going to pummle him.

I don't think Taylor can handle what Froch is gonna bring.
Froch is definately the hungrier fighter and i see him breaking JT down in a classic battle.
The styles are perfect for a brilliant fight and while i think JT takes the early rounds i see Froch coming through all he offers and start landing heavily maybe getting a late stoppage.
Froch will be the bigger stronger man i think he'll be so up for this and ready for war that he''ll just be too much for Taylor.

i assure you unlike fellow brits clinton woods, fraudley harrison, junior witter, carl froch is no fraud and the real deal.

he doesnt have the hand speed of calzaghe or the raw power of hatton but what he does bring is plenty of ring smarts and the ability to get the better of a stronger, faster man through in ring knowledge.

Froch should be able to just have enough to scrape a points win and id be very surprised if he didnt win this

Although i've given up on taylor ever getting back to the guy that got him to the top in the first place, i do belive he has enough to beat froch .

As it has been said I think this will be a classic fight. I do think Jermain will win by desicion not by KO what I voted on the poll. I like Jermain fighting at 168 he has looked better against Pavlik and Lacy. Now is another big test in Jermain's career. I really haven't seen too much of Froch except the Pascal fight and he doesn't look like he is in the same class as Taylor yet. But he is a puncher so you have to give him that chance. Should be great. I may even go to this one.

As for Green vs De Leon I really haven't seen to much of De Leon. Expierence edge will go to Green so I'll take him for the win.

I think Taylor is a step above Froch....He will win comfortably on the cards. People underestimate Taylor, keep in mind he gave Hopkins all he could handle. I think in a rematch he could beat Pavlik.....

I think Taylor is a step above too, Froch's fairly slow, easy to hit and I don't see some big puncher there, Paschal had looked chinny before that fight against pretty much journeymen. Granted Froch is the one English fighter that makes me seem anti-English fighters, he annoys me with his goofiness, stop it with the I'll smoke your boots, but even taking that into account I don't see some elite level fighter by any means.

So Taylor in a fight that that's closer than it should be because Taylor doesn't seem to have the killer instinct, mindset, stamina, etc. to blow anybody out.

9-3, something like that, maybe 8-4
