    Default Fight Night's Fool-Proof Defense

So you're not the best at parrying punches in the world, who cares neither am I. I found a solid defense that can be frustrating if you're going up against it. It's not much different than what Muhammad Ali would do.

    Follow me on this one.

-First you need to go to 'Create a Champ'
-Now you have 2 choices, you can either make a new guy from scratch or adjust one of your guys accordingly to what I'm about to tell you.

-Okay in Edit Boxer change his base style to smooth. Set his punching style to something that's not slow; I picked 'Sinister Cross" in my set-up. Blocking style doesn't matter a whole lot but I went with Philly-shell. The idea is to get someone that can really move quickly on their feet and be pretty fast when it comes to throwing leather.

-It's best that you make him in the lighter weights classes. For my guy he's a lightweight. Make your guy as tall as possible for his weight, this is important both offensively and defensively.

-Now we are on to stats, you want speed, agility and stamina maxed out. You can adjust the others to anything you want.-

-Let's take your new fighter for a test run. Your opponent for this fight-- let's pick Roberto Duran.

-Now here's the strategy, you use your timing and control of the distance to land your long range shots while always staying out of range of your opponent when you're not attacking. You can can attack in close but be vary reserved about it because this is the only way he can hit you.

-Here is the defensive part, you cover your body up by blockin. You need to stay out of range for the most part with your defense commited to blocking body punches, when he steps into range to hit you, all you'll have to do is lean back. It's that easy, you'll have the advantage against anyone that's not taller than you.

You don't have to worry about body punches or parrying you just control the distance, pick him apart with jabs, and lean back when they want to hit you in the face. Just don't let them get to close to you, you can even clinch and then push them away to create range, or exchange punches on the inside until you can get away.

This defense would be 100% solid if only you had an extra arm to protect your nuts from low blows, but that's a problem with every defense now isn't it.

Anyways give this style of defense a shot, once you have the reflexes down when it comes to leaning away from the punch, keeping them at distance and picking your shots you'll be invincible!

This even works well against real people, and some probably use this defense somewhat.

    Peace...

I do that online and i always switch to southpaw because i seem to get longer reach and its harder for people to hit.

Leaning back works for short fighters too

    But in a different way.

Ever fought against that guy who uses Joe Frazier and just leans back and takes what ever punches you can offer just to land one of his riddiculously meaty hooks?

Soooo annoying! I call them 'Fat Joe's'.... Cause all they can do is lean b...
    Aww you get the point!

Remedy? Do what Roy Jones Jnr does (that random looking dipping action?) Well kinda anyway....

The easiest way to score points off a 'Fat Joe' is throw jabs to the body, from range, in and out.
If you try to get more adventurous than that you'll get caught alot.

So, throw jabs to body then feint by dipping just out of range then shoot an uppercut of hook up stairs followed by a couple jabs or a right. Drop back a wee bit, jab body then get right outta range and dip up and down like a crazy man.

Watch him parry thin air like a headless chicken with no balls

RINSE AND REPEAT (switch hitting optional)

That was a fun game. It's funny I was never good with him until I mastered fight night, afterwards I kicked ass with him.

You go whoop there asses and then tell me all about it.

Yo.. Full stats Both at lightweight..

Own characters..He had speed style..I was slickster

    Both had sinister cross..

First fight i was outboxing the shit into him but he kept throwing lows and he got dq'd in 3..

The rematch i boxed the first round.. Then just used my slick and a little movement .. He got too wrapped up in blocking and i just hit him body head with a nice mix of the sinister cross till ui sparked him in the third..

My other boy wouldnt fight nitght me so we moved on to tekken where the rule is the team batlle..In this case 3 man meaning your best three against his..

Wooped both mates.. beat my first man who is a seriously good gamer and compl. sober 3 against 3 we had last guy against last guy..

And the second i wooped my man josh's 3 characters all with the original fighter ..

Thats the first guy and with decreasing health beat all three of his fighters strait

I was celebrating like i won a world title

    Nice show.

I've been messing with my new defense that I was talking about. I haven't decided to go the whole distance but I looked at the punch stats for round 1. 84% punch connect, landed about 178 blows. This was landing flurries of 3-4.

Duran got the shitty end of the stick, 78 punches thrown, 18 landed. And I haven't even perfected it yet. He caught me in a few exchanges and when I stood in range for too long. It's wierd he throws a long left hook that has a longer range than his jab.

The thing is once you're in range you hit him and block his bodyshots while leaning out of range. Against a real person I'm thinking it can be so much better, if they know that you're going to block all their bodyshots they're not going to be throwing them there right? Now since you've limited their options you have a better idea where they're going to throw next. Now you can pary their punches with greater success.

You don't want to keep your finger on the blocking trigger all the time or that'll just slow you down.

I figure that by the time I've perfected this and incorporated the heavy artillery, parries and quick reflexes then nobody can take me. Unless somebody comes around this forum and finds out what it's all about.
