The new Halloween movie is not a remake. It's a prequel.

Contrary to what many believe, this is a "new," Halloween. They didn't remake the original, this one's different. For all of the film buffs out there...........


It's like the movie "Red Dragon," a Silence of the Lambs prequel and "Manhunter," the original Silence of the Lambs prequel.

Same plot, characters, story line, etc. etc. but a completely different movie.


The new Halloween focus more on the psychosis of Michael Myers rather than the slasher Michael Myers of old(though there will still be some slashing )

It's another Rob Zombie movie (he also did "House of 1000 Corpses," "The Devil's Rejects," and was the lead singer for "White Zombie,") so it's got a different edge to it.

You mean it'll focus more on what he did in the mental ward like it was written in the book? There's still no need for it. It still takes place over the same sort of events. Red Dragon was backstory. There's no backstory to be told in halloween. They show him killing his sister. They show the institution story part (in either 1 or 2). It's closer to remake than prequel. For it to be closer to prequel they'd have to have a celtic scene where they broke down the significane of the seed tattoo and what not (like they did in the book). I just can't watch it. After I hear some reviews on here I might change my mind tho.

Other than that, Donald Pleasance = Irreplaceable.

When was that made? All three of them have anthony hopkins in them now and I think that will widely be accepted as "the series". So instead of showing the people he kills it'll show where he's hanging out and all that I guess. It could be ok, it's just that halloween is a classic series and a tall order for anyone to pull off properly especially in todays the more gore the better film industry.

Rob Zombie a "skilled" horror director ? Non of the movies around today scare me but nightmare on elm street is still kinda scary to this day regardless of how many times you've seen it.

I watched it last night as well and I understand what this new halloween will be like. I'm kinda interested in seeing it now.
