I feel bad for Forbes

From the interviews I have seen, pictures, reading about his life, etc. I feel pretty sad for him, specially if he looses (which is almost what everybody expects). The guy seems humble and a good sport. I want ODLH to win of course but then again, I just hope Forbes doesn't look THAT BAD loosing. Not a murderous TKO where ODLH fires punches to his head and someone in the audience has to bring it back to the ring.

I wish Forbes the best AFTER he looses (seems like it) to ODLH.

All I know about his life outside the ring is that his wife is smokin, so I can't feel too badly for him. Do hope he does really well against Oscar or even upsets him to spoil the Mayweather DLH rematch. Just so Floyd would fight Cotto already. Although something tells me even if that happened Mayweather might just fight Forbes if the money would be more than he'd make against anyone else, which could be..

Yeah he seems like a genuinely good good guy and hes a hard worker. Hes getting an opportunity that few fighters get so i dont feel bad for him. Id love lo fight a hbo main event as would most fighters, im sure the $$ aint too bad either.

DLH is a prick for making this fight...There is no relevence to it...Forbes does not stand in the way of a title shot...Hell I don't even think Forbes has been ranked in the top 10 for quite some time....Just a opp for DLH to claim a win....

On the other hand Forbes will be paid well for the fight...Perhaps his highest to date....and In the future DLH will make sure he gets some gimme fights with decent paydays as well....It is a win win for him....

Does anyone actually know what Forbes is making for this fight though?? I remember when it was announced that Oscar would fight on regular HBO in May, before an opponent was set; Richard Shaefer specifically said that his opponent should not expect to get the regular purse one would expect to fight Oscar. Wonder if Forbes really will get a big payday.

We see "pricks" here and there. Cotto just hand-picked Gomez as well instead of a big name. It's fine for me. ODLH has one of the best resumes out there so it's not really THAT bad for him to take a break. Cotto just did the same and nobody complained.

I would think that, whatever he's making, it is probably the biggest purse of his career. I think I remember during the Contender finale when he fought Brewer the commentator mentioning that win or lose he was going to get his biggest purse ever.

Trust me, a normal, everyday Joe Smith would never need to work again with what Forbes will be getting. I personally think he deserves it 100% because he is going to get the shit beaten out of him.

Good post. He wasn't forced to fight Oscar at gunpoint, it's a once in a lifetime opportuniy for him, hope he makes a go of it.

Thats where you are wrong mate...Cotto did not handpick Gomez...Gomez was also a ranked opponent...The fight was taken mainly due to the fact there was no other clear dance cards at the moment
