There's nothing to worry about in regards to taking calcium pills in protein shakes, it's better that you take them with meals.
One concern is the foods you take them with, although there is nothing wrong with adding calcium to a protein shake, taking calcium with foods that contain iron (red meat, chicken, pork, fortified breakfast cereal, bran, pumpkin seeds, blackstrap molasses, soybean nuts, spinach, red kidney beans, lima beans, prune juice, pretzels, rice, raisins, and prunes) risk your body's absorbtion of iron. In light of this it would be better to take Calcium at different meals than those which are high in iron.
Calcium helps with your muscles contractions and relaxing, which also holds true for the heart. Calcium is essential in growth, and contribute towards one's maximum bone density. It helps prevent blood clots, and reduces blood preasure, while also aiding the bodies chemical and nerve processes. Calcium is important if you keep extra weight off. If you're not getting enough calcium, your body will think you are starving and as a result the body will draw calcium from your bones, and you will bloat. Getting enough calcium can also prevent osterporosis which is the softening of bone tissue.
There's nothing unatural about Calcium pills, make sure you are also taking multi-vitamins, whether it be from your diet or from a pills. At your age you should be taking at least 1300 milligrams of calcium.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
