A good one for building power and speed in your jab is by using elastic rope, 15mm thick. Get a couple of 2 m lengths (should cost max $10), tie a loop on one end of each piece. Tie both pieces to a pole approx head height, put your hands in the loops. Now to improve your speed you keep your hands in your guard stance at a distance with some tension, facing the pole to which you have tied the rope to. Then you start throwing straights with good form, the elastic rope speeds up the movement improving the speed. To gain power, turn yourself around and throw punches away from the pole. Hope this helps mate.

Larry Holmes once told me to throw the jab like a whip it worked for me.

bro you fighting aug. 9th? good luck, but about your jab. I think you should try staying on your toes, then use a jab with a sudden step forward or a side step then a right straight or if your a southpaw a left straight.

I think you should start trying the peek-a-boo form. it imo will suit you, i was watching your fight with zelenoff and all you have to do is keep both your hands up bobble and weave to get inside then explode with an arsenal of hooks to the body and head. watch some hatton and old tyson fights and try to mimic their way of fighting. it'll suit you, even if you don't have power your aggression and determination will carry you.

We use a varient called dyna-bands. Loop it around your back and shadow box.

Also you need to be getting your hips in to your shot, also the snap over is in the hand position, your hand in guard is at about 3/4's, when the shots about to land you snap it so that your hand is level

Yeah we have those too at our gym, they come with handles right? They are just too expensive for me atm. So elastic rope is a cheap and effective substitute, which seems to be working

Yep,thats the animal,it makes you work harder to get the jab off, making it easier to do it without them, and it gets you used to snapping your arm back in to guard
