This is some of the worst refing or rules I have ever seen. THere are so many clinches very few of the fighters are able to get into a good rhythym, whoever the Brittish have in the welterweight or light welterweight division that Billy Joe or whatever looks really solid.

I agree the judging is shithouse. They miss so many good punches and score points for slaps. I think im yet to see a single bodyshot score a point!
I was watching a fight the other day and the guy who i thought was clearly winning was down like 10-2, i had to turn it off!

Totally agree Taeth - I have been very unimpressed with what little coverage I have seen. Watched Dimetrius Andrade last night, the American welterweight world champ and he looked bloody awful in barely beating a Georgian bloke who, if the judges had have been counting his pucnches better, probably should have won. I think the scoring is terrible, beautiful punches don't score. Or I've seen a beautiful three punch combination land and score only one point

SBS TV in Australia shows selections of 3 or 4 fights here round 9.30 at night and so far it has been diabolical. The referees don't seem to want to break the fighters. The other night a poor bloke was obviously in a bad way, he was staggering around and then fell. Then he got up and looked terrible, the ref should have called it then but he just let the poor bloke fall hard again and did absolutely nothing to help him - just stood there.

i watched a few fights...but no boxer really catched my attention...i thought that one kid from cali was going to be baddass because they kept playing stories of him and his twin brother...but what a let down....oh yeah..that one guy from cuba was pretty solid i think.

Body punches are only scored if they are landed extremely cleanly. I just watched Selimov lose and that fight he should have been disqualified. Raynell Williams for the States looks pretty sharp though, this american team looks pretty solid.

go to cbc.ca at the right time and you can watch it live.

I agree with Andrade Fight, I saw him landing way more shots, and that Georgia guy was clinching so much he should have had points taken away. He was been extremely cheap to take away Andrade's far superior physical tools.
