"joe loius was a 100 years old when he fought marciona"
according to a quick internet search a guy called Jem Mace was still boxing at 73!....but he was fighting in the late 1800's....I know of no decent proof of this though.

						Saoul Mamby what a legend.
Crafty fighter and good on his feet you hardly read or hear his name in boxing circles. This dude fought in 5 decades the only other boxer I can think of is Duran who also fought in 5 decades. Durans the oldest fighter to fight for a legit title when he fought Joppy.
Foreman fought through 4 decades.

My great great uncle Albert "The Italian Destroyer" Merlini fought a 6 round exhibition at the age of 77 against a 44 year old Polish fighter named Nils Czarnecki in my backyard when I was drunk at my 6th birthday party.
I actually refereed the fight and waved the 3 knockdown rule late in the 5th round.
I was the only judge and I scored the fight 59-55 for my uncle.![]()

Jem Mace did indeed fight late on, he had his last listed fight against Mike Donavon in September 1897 aged 66; for the Veterans Championship; he boxed his last Public exhibition on his 74th Birthday in April 1905.
Mace was an amazing character, not just Boxing's first Worldwide superstar, but Sports first as well.
