Gerry "FEARLESS" Peñalosa tells JuanMa:"Be ready"

WBO bantamweight champion Gerry "Fearless" Peñalosa formally sealed a grand showdown with WBO super bantamweight titlist Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez after easily punching his way to a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Mexican German Meraz in the main event of the other night's "Battle of the Best Bantamweights" card witnessed by a jampacked crowd at the Cebu Coliseum. The official scores were 100-89, 100-89, and 99-90.

Peñalosa immediately called on Lopez moments after he got out of the ring, telling his Puerto Rican rival to train hard and be ready for their April 25 battle in San Juan, Puerto Rican.

"Be ready," Peñalosa quickly replied when asked on his message to Lopez. "It's been my ultimate dream to win three world titles in different weight divisions. If I can achieve that, then maybe it's time for me to consider retirement," added the former WBC super flyweight champion.

I think he should consider retiring now. JuanMa is too young, too strong, and too prime.

Haven't actually seen Gerry fight since he stopped Gonzales, but unless he has shown to have gotten much older since then noone should have anything bad to say about this fight. Juan Ma is a beast but Penalosa is still tough as nails and a big step up.

Might just be one leap too many for Penalosa.I think Lopez should jump on him right out of the gate...the longer it goes though,Gerry is one of the craftiest guys around.Just dont think he can match Lopezs strengh. He'll have to weather a furious beginning to bout but chances get better down the stretch I believe,Lopez is a force, but still a bit raw and green.Penalosa had better invest in that early body work.

Is like i said before , in this Division the only who can give good fight is Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez , to me probably Penalosa just want a good purse for the retirement , he know what would happen , Juanma Lopez is a Devastator in this division.............is a young with hungry that want try to liquidate to all in this division.................

Might have to change his name from Fearless to teethless. I literally give him no chance against Lopez. He's got everything going against them. If this fight is even competitive than I think the fix might be in.

I think you forgot the real king at 122, Celestino "THE TOWERING INFERNO" Caballero... He's the current 122 WBA and IBF champion and he will give anyone at 122 a very difficult fight...

JuanMa is young and being young also means inexperience and raw... Peñalosa is old and it also means very experienced and a master boxer...

Penalosa is a good fighter, i actually kinda like the guy, but he is going to get curbstomped and what sucks even more is when he wakes up stumble over to the gym and teach nonito to do the exact opposite.

Penalosa has skills, no doubt. But I don't think he can pull it off against the younger, bigger, stronger, and hungrier Juanma.

Looks like the young, bit raw and less experienced JuanMa is uncomfortable infront of "FEARLESS" Peñalosa...

My confident level for Gerry winning the fight went from 3, and now 7. I just finished watching Lopez-DeLeon, Lopez-Medina, Penalosa-Gonzalez, and Penalosa-Vorapin. I came to conclusion that it will be a long night for Juanma. Difinitely he's a tailor made for Gerry. I think he's gonna take Juanma too school and box him beatifully and knock him out in 10th or 11th round!

Did you noticed JuanMa was so tense speaking in the podium? (JuanMa playing with his thumbs/fingers). Anyone know if JuanMa has some stage fright?? (Or is he starting to feel the pressure from Peñalosa?)
