I would classify myself as somewhere between casual fan and not a fan. Guess that makes me a casual fan...
I think it's rubbish. Not a fan at all.
i watch a UFC fight every like 4 months an i dnt buy their PPVs.
I occasionally watch it, just not really interested in it. It's just not aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. I do respect it, but it's just not my cup of tea.
I really enjoy it when two of the best get matched up. I will admit I used to despise it.
Guess you could label me serious fan.
I love it; watch them all for the most part unless a card just doesn't take my fancy. I'm more a "purist" and boxing is #1 for me, with Muay Thai fights from Thailand being mu second fave; but I love combat sports period.
I love a good chess match with BJJ aces going at it. I have alot of respct for Helio Gracie and how he created BJJ. Guy had polio when he was a child and was like 140 pounds alot of his adult life. Helio had one of if not the longest fights in history at just under 4 hours with a man who was like 220 pound muscled stone cutter who had been a student of his. He got ktfo but still mad respect; and he also had pnemonia at the time. Just like boxing BJJ shows how a smaller man can win over a bigger stronger man through technique alone.
Well with 50 + year old former boxers and short lived WWF wrestlers pulling off huge wins....I'm sure its future is bright![]()
I watched it for a few months like a kid watches the circus pass through town but fell off.Why do I need a Mma
when I have Boxing. BUT....it does have some of the most stunning ringcard (octagon) women Ive ever seen![]()

Yeah Tim Sylvia got owned by Mercer; and I didn't expect it to go any other way. Tim used his mongoloid size and 10 ft. jab to win fights; thought his boxing was "good"
He was a joke and the HW div. in UFC is as bad as in boxing. Wish these guys had better sweet science to compliment their games but most have rudimentary skills at best. Mike Swick, Joey Villasenyor, Marcus Davis and Anderson Silva come to mind that have better than average hands.
I don't know what size shoe he wears; he's a goombah trailer trash gimp. His legs were Gumby like and when he walks they bend in; I really don't know how he won any fights. Randy Couture owned him though that was funSome fun fights to watch are Parysian/Sanchez or Guida/Sanchez. Also Melvin Guillard has some viscious hands and a scary left hook.
I respect very few fighters in MMA....guys like Lesnar, Joe Rogan, the first couple of The Ultimate Fighter contestants and hell even the head man Dana White will keep anyone respectable away from the sport.
I used to hate and ridicule it a couple years back but am a huge fan now. It is so much better organised than boxing. In boxing we look forward to big fights, but in the UFC its the entire show. They will have a half a dozen fights, all of them entertaining and the action is so much unpredictable than boxing, you really don't know what is going to happen.
I know there always used to be the argument that a really great boxing fight would be better than a really great MMA fight but even that isn't holding up any more.
Some of my favourite fights of the year have been MMA fights, and guys like St Pierre, Anderson Silva, Lyto Machida etc are right up there with the elite boxers in terms of talent and skills.
In fact I'm not sure if those three guys arn't actually more talented than any boxers right now, considering the variety and completeness of their skill sets.
It's a phenomenal sport imo and in another 10 years or so will be on an equal par with boxing, certainly in the US and maybe even the UK and Europe.
True but I don't really care reasons I just watch it for entertainment.
You can't tell me that the recent Guida vs Sanchez wasn't as brutally entertaining as ANY boxing fight this year.
It was fucking insane, Guida got hit with everything and just took it all, blood pouring from his face and yet throwing back like the crazy wildman he is.
I don't see how anyone can't find this sport it entertaining! And this wasn't an example of the sweet science sure, but there are some amazing techinical fighters in MMA, Machida being a great example.
They put on great fights, I mean what was the better fight this week Darchinyan against Agbeko or Dan Henderson's absolutel annihilation of Michael Bisping, the best knockout of 2009 in any sport!
