Question Has Pac improved since the JMM bouts?

Just wondering.... As it's a given that in most discussions, JMM has been the fighter of recent times that gave Pac the most trouble. And that actually a third fight with JMM makes the most sense because of that...

I honestly think at 140 or above Pac would be a LOT more difficult for JMM to match up with.
But completely putting the weight issues aside, do you think he has improved enough to be more competitive (or dominant) against JMM? Obviously confidence would play a part as well, which is sky high for Pac right right now..
But skill wise is the real question...

And on the other side, how do you think JMM has progressed since those fights?

Everyone is talking about a JMM fight making the most sense if you overlook the weight differences, but no one has really talked about whether the fighters are still matched so evenly ability wise.

and fine yes, for the people already thinking it,,, I concede I am slightly sucking Pac's nuts by creating another thread about him in an already abundant first page of Pac threads... This is my first and last I promise, and it's a topic i've yet to see discussed..

pac seems to have improved an unbelieveable amount

he has battered top class p4p professionals 3 or 4 divisions above what he fought jmm at

i think he was very fortunate to get the decision in one of the JMM fights, i cant see JMM getting anywhere near next time

    i hope he does tho

Pacquiao has difinitely improved since the JMM bouts. And he's still not declining as a fighter, he's improving every fight. Pac is more rounded than he used to be. He used to be a one-dimensional fighter. He got away with being one-dimensional because bwoy what a dimension that was! But you cannot survive in the long run with just one dimension (meaning nothing put a forceful left hand). His left hand is dynamite. But now he's hurting, knocking down big guys with his right hook too. What has been impressing me the most though is his footwork and the way he throw accurate combos. His punches are so freaking weird to look at, but they are so precise. He has evolved into a two fisted fighter who can box or slug.

It hard to say because he hasn't faced a fighter with JMM ability that was fighting at optimal weight. So its hard to tell. I think right now its about making as much money as he can, and having him active in the to public. A fight against anyone that will show his lack of improvement vs a fighter like JMM will hurt his appeal as it pertains to setting up

IMO he has improved ten fold. I am a big Marquez fan and it does hurt for me to say that knowing he should have gotten the nod it at least one of those fights, but a fight right now Pac would destroy Marquez.Pac is more in the range of a junior welter 140 and Marquez is probably more like a 130 fighter fighting at 135. He seems to have a much better right hook that is staggering and his combinations have improved with speed and power. Marquez hasn't really improved on any one thing.

Pac's chin has considerably improved from 130, now to the higher weights. Doesn't need to cut a massive amount of weight and then rehydrate to 145 on fight night. Now it's only 3 or 4 pounds the most.
I don't see JMM rocking him like he did in their last fight if there is a 3rd and final bout at 140.

I think it's more the fact that he has a huge speed advantage now against guys that stand right, than the fact he improved after the Marquez fight. It' really hard to gauge that because he hasn't faced the same type of opponent. I think in some ways he has improved, but not in the ways that would help him against a pure boxer or JMM.

He's only fought fighters who come straight forward in a brawling style that have been Ko'ed badly at least once within their last 5 fights. Not to mention that all but hatton were brought down to a catch weight.

It's hard to say if he's improved or not.

    Yeah, Pacman improved.
    1. He throws 6 punch combos instead of 3
    2. He don't pull straight back. He cut angles
    3. With the weight and condition, he has gotten stronger.
    4. Now he on roids!!!

Since the 1st fight obviously but i don't think there's any difference, between the Manny Pacquiao of the 2nd fight and the Manny Pacquiao now. Its just all of Manny Pacquiao's recent opponents have been come forward fighters.

That isn't the way to beat Manny Pacquiao, you can't just try and overwhelm Manny Pacquiao with size and power. Because he will beat you to the punch all night long, and Manny Pacquiao's counter punching is underrated and he will eat you alive coming in.

JMM has the right blueprint, make Manny Pacquiao use his aggressive style against him.

JMM fought both versions of Manny Pacquiao, the one handed version. And the improved boxer version, and he was just as effective in the 2nd fight.

Right now Manny Pacquiao would win, because JMM can't move up in weight. And he's been showing his age bit more lately.

But both at there best and at a fair weight, JMM troubles Manny Pacquiao just as much as he always done. But i thought Manny Pacquiao was at his best in his 2nd fight, and just for the record i feel JMM won both fights.

Just rewatched it yesterday, and he clearly beat pac. Hard to see how he deals with Floyd.

Well i think he would catch Floyd Mayweather Jr, alot more than Floyd Mayweather Jr's been hit in quite sometime. Because of the southpaw style, penertrating the shoulder roll.

But i can see Floyd Mayweather Jr having a field day with his counter punching, Manny Pacquiao would be hit so often. And Floyd Mayweather Jr has underrated power.

But it would be a very intriguing fight to watch, the best offensive fighter of this decade vs the best defensive fighter of this decade.

Floyd would only use the shoulder after he got Manny's timing down. He'd stick straight rights into Manny's face and roll away before sitting in the pocket. But then I thought he'd run from Mosley because I thought Shane would show up, not the old man that did.

Boxing is a funny sport and I'm making no more definitive picks in regards to "megafights"
