Hi guys just after your thoughts on what you think is more beneficial when running as part of improving cardio in a lead up to a fight.
Old fashioned road running for say 2-3 miles every week day or say something like laps round a football pitch sprinting the lengths jogging the widths every week day?

I believe in mixing it up, think its a good habit. You get to understand the bodies ability to understand its clock on exertion and Stress.

Thanks for the reply Scrap, good thinking one day old school road work and the next day laps of the football pitch. Do you think running every morning (apart from weekends) as well as gym training 3 Monday/Weds/Friday is enough or too much?

Running every Day is not a good Idea, depending on the impact to the Spinal column. Its a part of the Anatomy that is overlooked while Running. We understand the impact on Joints to the lower limbs, but dont think about the damage done to the upper part of the body, by bad Technique while Running.

I like to constantly mix it up. Old fashioned road work. Run trails. Sprinting on a field or wherever. Sprint steep hills. Never let your body adapt and always put yourself in an uncomfortable place. Overcome it mentally as well. I think you can train as much as you want as long as you are eating right and taking your vitamins for recovery. Sleep and recovery are key to training. Just my thoughts on it.
