I thought that Floyd fighting Berto originally might just be to set up a rematch with Pacquiao in some way, but now that fights apparently PPV I kind of doubt it. Hope Pacquiao takes a challenge if he does fight on another route, it would be awesome to see him in a crossroads fight with a Brook or Thurman, I'm more interested in those guys fighting him than Floyd.

I agree with you, Floyd is a great fighter who turns fights into boring affairs. I can't say anything against the way Floyd fights except that it's boring. I would much rather see Manny against Thurman or Brook. Either one of these fights would be more exciting to watch than another Floyd vs Manny II. IMO.

Manny was clearly a different fighter to the one we are used to seeing and it was either age or injury. Manny has a lot of questions to answer if he wants to continue his career. If he could beat up someone like Thurman it would say a lot. If he gets beaten up by Thurman then it would say a lot too. Manny has to be in a meaningful fight and a Rios type comeback simply wouldn't cut it now. Manny has to prove he deserves a rematch and that means showing the eye of the tiger.

What amazes me is that all you mayweather minions trying to demean Pac's performance on May 2 choose to forget your idol Floyd's pathetic performance. There was no reason why Manny could not have thrown more and outhustled Floyd with output. Mayweather wasn't so great that Maidana didn't throw any punches and yet Manny threw something like 30 punches a round. Is Maidana that much better than Manny or was Manny injured or shot? The thing with the Pac fight is that Floyd stunk almost as much as Manny.

Of course. Actually I don't think the Manny of yesteryear would have had to keep punching, because the initial left hand would have knocked Floyd out cold!

What happened is Floyd signed to fight Manny with no intention of fighting him - he was going to fake an injury and pull out. But unbeknownst to Manny and his camp, Dashon Johnson and Floyd are very good friends from years back. So one day Floyd gets a call.

DASHON: Yo money, I think you got this fight brah.

FLOYD: What do you mean? There's no way I'm getting in the ring with Pac. He's just too strong, too fast. He'd destroy me. I'm going to fake an injury and then set up a rematch with Robert Guerrero for later this year.
