If he could beat up someone like Thurman it would say a lot. If he gets beaten up by Thurman then it would say a lot too. Manny has to be in a meaningful fight and a Rios type comeback simply wouldn't cut it now. Manny has to prove he deserves a rematch and that means showing the eye of the tiger.

A fighters output tends to correlate with how good the guy they are fighting is. Manny hasn't thrown much more than he did against Floyd in years!

There was no reason why Manny could not have thrown more and outhustled Floyd with output. Mayweather wasn't so great that Maidana didn't throw any punches and yet Manny threw something like 30 punches a round. Is Maidana that much better than Manny or was Manny injured or shot? The thing with the Pac fight is that Floyd stunk almost as much as Manny.
