I started boxing In December, so it has almost been a year.
For the first couple months I took the basic boxing classes and never really even hit a single punch mit (just the bag).
Then I started training with the instructor I am with now, I have learned a lot, and actually started sparring with him..... he then accidentally broke my nose (he is 6'2" and 220+ lbs) and had to stop.
The nose healed up and I was able to spar with a couple people that are far far better than me and were more interested in teaching me and improving some of the finer techniques than hurting me. Then my nose got broken again ( I suspect it was because I did let me nose heal enough ). This was because of an ill fated clinch which resulted in an accidental head butt.
The other day I sparred with a guy, he is 190 lbs (18%+ body fat) , I am 154 with 10% body fat. I explained that my nose was still broke and yet I had no interest in getting it broken for the 3rd time. He neglected to listen to me and while he didn’t break my nose, I got popped with a hook to the head (not jaw) that made me see white for a split second.
I was wondering If I get used to this or what? It was really discouraging. I am a far better boxer than him and if I was not hesitate to take a punch to the nose, I would have made him my sparring partner and not vice versa
please help?
