Default Abraham promises punishment! Hell yeah....

"Greetings from your king, I will punish you again," says IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham to June 21 foe Edison Miranda in a video produced by his promoter.
    » boxen.com «
Abraham and Miranda will meet in a twelve round rematch contested at a catchweight of 166 pounds live on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

As a must-see prelude to their much anticpated rematch, SHOWTIME will present Abraham-Miranda I for the first time on U.S. television on June 16th and 19th on SHO2 and June 21 on SHOWTIME. Miranda (30-2, 26 KOs), long known as one of the most feared punchers in boxing, broke Abraham’s jaw with vicious shots to the head early in that bout and blood flowed steadily from Abraham’s mouth until the final bell. Miranda, fighting on Abraham’s home turf in Germany, lost five points for low blows and head-butts. Abraham, (26-0, 21 KOs) the current IBF middleweight champion, survived the brutal injury to win a decision by five, six and seven points respectively on the judges scorecards to retain his title. "In all my life as a boxing fan, and as a producer for more than 20 years, I have never seen anything like it," said David Dinkins Jr., executive producer of SHOWTIME Sports telecasts, of Abraham’s broken jaw. "For a guy to fight through that kind of injury and win is truly remarkable. There’s some unfinished business here. I am really looking forward to seeing them go at it again."

I know most people here are rooting for Miranda, but I'm really hoping that this time Abraham knock Miranda out...

It's possible abraham is no slouch, it just seems like miranda would beat up his own mother to get his hands on abraham again.....and he finally is. Rooting for miranda in my case i wouldn't go that far but excited to see him against some good comp in this division yes i am.

This will be one of the best fights this year. I really don't know who I'm rooting for in this one tbh. It's going to be messy though.

I am going into this not rooting for either side, rather looking for a great exciting fight, I do have to give a huge kudos to Abraham for coming over to America and fighting a guy that broke his jaw in multiple places.

Chalk up a win for the fans on this one.

Really 'cited bout this one. Should be a smoker.

Too many people discount Abraham but he really gutted it out in their first fight. Miranda's got a hardcore hate on for AA though...so that should make for another brutal encounter.

I want Abraham to win...but I aint sold enough on either to pick a winner on this one. I'd love to see AA shut Miranda down early though...just to keep him from bumpin those gums all night long.

I think I've posted in every one of these threads, but I'll say it again. I think Abraham will win by stoppage. He had Miranda hurt numerous times in the first fight, and frankly, even though the first fight made Miranda, I was more impressed with Abraham. Aside from breaking AA's jaw, which isn't something I dismiss, Miranda looked much less impressive than I was led to believe. AA is the superior boxer in every facet, he has more than decent power, and he demonstrated tremendous heart in the first fight. Unless Miranda's defense has improved dramatically I think AA stops him or at least beats him on points. People forget that ever without the point deductions AA would've won the first fight by MD, although a case can certainly be made that Miranda should have won by TKO.
I have no idea who too cheer for, I like both guys, but I'm leaning towards Abraham because he seems to be the underdog here.

No doubt the ref will be on Mirandas side this time so AA better get ready for one of those Zinedine Zidane head butts while the ref turns a blind eye This should be a great fight. It could get ugly folks!

The one thing I wonder about this fight is who will be helped more by the extra weight? Other than that, I'm not really a fan of either so I just want to see a good fight.

    Guess I'm leaning Abraham

I'm a huge Miranda fan, and want him to win. It will be another tough fight for both guys though, big time. I will say this though, there will be no 5 minute breaks, no stopping and starting and no forcing the fight to continue. Abraham had better bring his A game this time as he was given some huge favors in their first encounter.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Abraham absolutely shuts Miranda down and stops him without being in big trouble. Something tells me he wouldn't be coming over here to fight him on his terms if he didn't know that all the room for imrovement was on him. Obviously he still deserves a ton of respect for making the trip since Edison is very dangerous, but Abraham is the smarter fighter with better skills, the rematch is more in his favour imo. Besides who knows how much trouble he would've had with Miranda if his jaw hadn't been broken(I know that's really an awful point)...

After reading about the first fight I was convinced that Miranda was robbed.

    Then I watched it.

I think Arthur has as much dislike of Miranda as Miranda has of him, he just isnt as obvious about it.

Abraham KO. I'll take rep/sig bets from anyone who thinks Miranda will win.
