Default Now i'm more convinced then ever that Cotto will be stopped.

I just finished re-watching Cotto's fight vs Mosley, and now i'm sure Cotto will not make it to the final bell. Mosley had Cotto reeling backwards from the 9th rd on from the pressure, and Mosley's a small welter that has been past his prime for a few yrs now. Cotto will not see the final bell. Magarito by tko 11.Cotto will cave in from the pressure.

Mosley is faster, shorter and better fluid combo hitter than Tony........I think Margarito can come 'under' Cotto with 3 times the pressure, defiantly match one punch power..Both will bodyache after this one Viva Margarito

Mosley is a much better fighter than Tony. That being said...Shane clearly showed that his speed has declined considerably...but he still fought Cotto to a draw IMO. Shane wasn't particularly sharp with his punches in that fight either...and he still landed plenty on Cotto. Miguel is a great, young champion. But his defense is still porous and i'm still not sold on his chin. Will Tony be the fighter to exploit those weaknesses to a victory...i'm not so sure. But Cotto will have some shaky moments in this fight. I still pick Cotto to win because of his better overall skill...but i wouldn't be shocked if he got KOed either.

Miguel wasn't hurt at all, he slipped on a wet spot, a round later or maybe even in that round Mosley slips coming forward in that exact same spot. Just look at how Cotto is acting he clearly isn't hurt. Also he didn't have that many difficulties with Mosley until he got that cuti n his mouth or whatever. THe more I see the fight the more rounds I give to Cotto. I have him ahead by a few rounds in that fight, and up until his lip, Cotto was really giving it to Mosley IMO. He landed way better punches, he had way better timing, power, practical speed. Also I think Mosley has only really slowed down in the combination department when it comes to speed, and he has lost some snap to his punches, but all in all his speed has remained pretty close to peak levels if your going by literal stop watch time.

Though Mosley was pressuring Cotto, Cotto was not in danger of getting KO'd in those last rounds. And Cotto's counterpunching while moving backwards against a strong and fast vet like Mosley was perhaps Miguel's most brilliant boxing display of his career. Margarito will bring the pressure, but I see him getting tired before Cotto by the end of the fight. Margarito will be less effective than Mosley pressuring Cotto and Mosley was not very effective. Tony's wide punches are easy to stay away from-if you have the boxing skill. I believe Cotto does.

Yeah Mosley was pressuring cuz Cotto allowed him to . He did the same things vs Ndou . When he is ahead Cotto doesnt mind going for walkaboutand I can see him doing exactly the same thing vs Tony . He will out box him early then just counter him in the late rounds and come away a deserving winner.

@ the ppl who say Margarito will stop Cotto - I watched Tonys fight with Paul yesterday and it isnt hard to outbox Margarito . Cotto will be outboxing Tont and we will all be waiting for Tony to suddenly up the pace but it will never happen . Cotto wont allow it to be fought at a pace he doesnt like and his extra class will tell .

Hey Rene , i dont know how many times did you see that fight buddy , but i think that you need more times for analizes that fight , i gave 7 - 5 to Cotto , is not because im a Cotto fan , but bro.......we have to be realistic , if you remember Mosley after round 5 , he knew that if he continued to fight at the same way that he began , he would been KO , he felt the Cottos power , then after round 9 Cotto took more slowly going backwards and that doesnt mean that he was tire , if you can see he always comes with new skills and that was ones that he were making backwards , boxing , speed and double jabs etc..., i admired Mosley because he assimilated somes real good shots of Cotto , i respect your opinion Rene , but i dont Speculate when i see a boxer that try to make see his improvements and that Count bro.........

I know that Margaro has a granite chin , but we will see when Cotto let him know that he will going break it ...............

I don't agree with your post but I can definitely see your reasoning.

That's what makes this fight so huge. The fact that so many different things ca happen because of Cotto's skill, heart and power and Tonys huge heart, ability to take good punches and although he's slow, he has a way of getting his punches in kind of like Pavlik.

    Most intriguing fight in years.

There's a reason floyd ducked them both.

We'll just have to see fellas. Cotto was being pushed a by a little welter who wasn't what he once was. Now he going to fight a guy who fights hard for 12 full rds and never lets you breath. Cotto will not be able to run as he did with Shane in the last quarter of the fight because all he will be doing is giving Margarito the momentum. Cotto even said that he basically stopped fighting after the 9th in the post fight interview. He was winded and couldn't keep up with an old jr welter, what's going to do a with a full fledged in your face welter?

Anybody who thinks Cotto was any where near being hurt in those final rounds is blind. I seriously don't know what most people where watching that 9th round. Just because he was moving backwards doesn't mean he was in trouble. IMHO he clearly won the round by clean counterpunching and simply out-boxing Mosley.

By the way are you forgetting the three rounds before that when Mosley was moving back. I guess he must of been hurt right...

Cotto was nowhere near being in trouble against Mosely. People probably think this way because he switched to his boxer mode in the later rounds which is perfectly fine because his JABS were almost like powerpunches anyways.
Cotto will net get hit this often again because Tony is nowhere near as fast as Mosely.
    Cotto by UD!!!
