Mosley is faster, shorter and better fluid combo hitter than Tony........I think Margarito can come 'under' Cotto with 3 times the pressure, defiantly match one punch power..Both will bodyache after this oneViva Margarito

Mosley is a much better fighter than Tony. That being said...Shane clearly showed that his speed has declined considerably...but he still fought Cotto to a draw IMO. Shane wasn't particularly sharp with his punches in that fight either...and he still landed plenty on Cotto. Miguel is a great, young champion. But his defense is still porous and i'm still not sold on his chin. Will Tony be the fighter to exploit those weaknesses to a victory...i'm not so sure. But Cotto will have some shaky moments in this fight. I still pick Cotto to win because of his better overall skill...but i wouldn't be shocked if he got KOed either.
Miguel wasn't hurt at all, he slipped on a wet spot, a round later or maybe even in that round Mosley slips coming forward in that exact same spot. Just look at how Cotto is acting he clearly isn't hurt. Also he didn't have that many difficulties with Mosley until he got that cuti n his mouth or whatever. THe more I see the fight the more rounds I give to Cotto. I have him ahead by a few rounds in that fight, and up until his lip, Cotto was really giving it to Mosley IMO. He landed way better punches, he had way better timing, power, practical speed. Also I think Mosley has only really slowed down in the combination department when it comes to speed, and he has lost some snap to his punches, but all in all his speed has remained pretty close to peak levels if your going by literal stop watch time.
Though Mosley was pressuring Cotto, Cotto was not in danger of getting KO'd in those last rounds. And Cotto's counterpunching while moving backwards against a strong and fast vet like Mosley was perhaps Miguel's most brilliant boxing display of his career. Margarito will bring the pressure, but I see him getting tired before Cotto by the end of the fight. Margarito will be less effective than Mosley pressuring Cotto and Mosley was not very effective. Tony's wide punches are easy to stay away from-if you have the boxing skill. I believe Cotto does.
It is not happening, no matter how hard you try to convince yourself![]()
I do think Tony can give Cotto a hard fight , but im not sure he can win.
Yeah Mosley was pressuring cuz Cotto allowed him to . He did the same things vs Ndou . When he is ahead Cotto doesnt mind going for walkaboutand I can see him doing exactly the same thing vs Tony . He will out box him early then just counter him in the late rounds and come away a deserving winner.
@ the ppl who say Margarito will stop Cotto - I watched Tonys fight with Paul yesterday and it isnt hard to outbox Margarito . Cotto will be outboxing Tont and we will all be waiting for Tony to suddenly up the pace but it will never happen . Cotto wont allow it to be fought at a pace he doesnt like and his extra class will tell .
Thats cool, Mosley & Tony are two different types big time.It was not so much the 9th round Cotto was effected,he and Mosley actually worked Jabs well but I did not see Cotto winning that round. The beginning of the 10th when Cotto went hard semi-through the ropes ,partly backing so fast and partly Mosleys over hand right.Tony is not as fast as Mosley by any means but can hit much, much harder and with more volume.Cotto did very well in switching gears later but its being made to sound like he simply decided too out of boredom as opposed to out of necessity...Mosley was catching him plain and simple,30 seconds into the 10th Mosley gets him on ropes and caught him clean ,Cotto got that stand up tall look and felt it.Cotto managed to retain that tight high guard but this is where I see Tony bringing them straight and from underneath on Cotto.Cotto has developed as a boxer well but Margarito can get him to the ropes,He will HAVE to stand and throw,Its his nature and instinct.
If Cotto thinks he can just fight in those disciplined moments then move around as he pleases & "win the easy way" without Margarito cutting him off & putting constant heat on him,He is Mistaken.Cottos should bring some power jabs and alot of body work,Margarito needs to cut him off,use mass volume & angels with uppercuts splitting the guard. Love this fight!! Viva Margarito![]()
LOL he wasn't reeling, he wasn't running, ffs he won two of the last four rounds, he was boxing on the back foot, and doing it very well.
