    Default Should Hatton retire ?

I think he should have a homecoming in Wembley stadium or somehting. Against a contender so he can go out with a win. Or at least have one more fight at home.

There's nothing else he can achieve. He has lost 2/3 career defining fights and I feel he should walk away after one more fight.

    Thoughts ?

That was the type of knockout that ends careers. Hatton has nothing to prove now, so I wouldn't mind him just calling it a day.

Knockouts like that are extremely hard to come back from. Really he didnt just get knocked out, he got dominated! He got knocked down twice in the first round and then out cold in the second. Your confidence levels are shot. I think hatton might HAVE to retire, sure he can fight on but will he still be the same warrior?

Totally agree. He didn't just lose out there, he was blown away and fell as hard as anyone in recent memory. It's the type of thing you would expect of Amir Khan, you just wouldn't expect it of Ricky Hatton though.

He definitely should retire, the punch resistance has gone and that knock out will take some more out of him, if that's all Ricky has left its better he calls it a day while he still has some marbles.

Theres only 1 fight id like to see now and that him v Witter. But id just as much like him to retire.

Hes a top top man, still my favourite current boxer by a long long way but he got smashed up big time. That was 1 hell of a smack or 5 he took maybe times time.

He should really give retirement a long hard thought.
I think he should and sadly I don't think he'll get a letter from Canastota, NY.

I've gone after a homecoming as I'd love to see him KO Khan, but I don't know if he still has what it takes even for Khan!

There's just no coming back from that loss. He doesn't have the 140 excuse anymore. He used to live by "no-one can beat me at 140."

He said he was worried about Lazcano because of the loss to Floyd. So how we hill react after a loss that was 100 times worse?

Sad way to finish, but he's finished.

That loss right there will make him question himself and what he has left, at least I would think it would. I say hang em' up. That kind of shot he took, not to mention the very one sided, systematic beating he took in those 5 minutes can only make one feel gun shy. He doesn't need to get hit any more so call it quits man. The way that ended, plus his long career of taking alot of shots, could catch up to him and he does't need any more. That is the worst beating I saw a world champion take in so short a time in a title fight.

I think retirement is the best option for Hatton now.

He had a good career and has got plenty of money.

He should call it a day.

it will be an emmbarrising loss for Ricky... there was no ref excuse and i was worried for him when he was on the deck...sad to see.

hes richer than he ever imagined he would be and should retire.

however as a fan i would love to see him take on Witter as a fairwell fight BUT if he lossed that one i think that would hurt him mentally more than any of his losses.

so hang em up Ricky and thanks for giving me as a fan some great memories
