    Default Tony Thompson-Cris Arreola...anyone interested?

Arreola looked fat and sloppy vs Brian Minto (great fight by Minto though big heart on that fella). I have no clue how Thompson looked but I know he's quality, he's consistent, he's got solid defense and a good jab, I think he's BIG trouble for Arreola.

They have called each other out in their post fight press conferences as well.

I think Tony would beat Arreola by decision. Tony spars with the Klitschkos and is a pretty slick fighter.....He would keep Arreola at bay and pepper him throughout the fight..........

Arreola is done, he has no discipline and to be a great fighter you cant just rely on natural ability and experience, you have to stay in shape.....to come into this last fight heavier than when he fought Vitali is not a good sign.

I agree, I think Tony Thompson is all wrong for Arreola. Cris talked smack about Thompson getting KO'd, but then again Cris didn't last the distance either.

Thompson lost to Wlad but he has been consistent since then winning his fights and staying in relatively decent shape 240-250 which he carries well. Cris Arreola has obviously learned NOTHING about being in shape or being a PROFESSIONAL fighter instead of a big fat disgrace

I said something similar last night after the fights. While I find neither fighter overly impressive, I think Thompson would outbox Arreola pretty handily.

Its a sad claim to make but I think Tony Thompson might well be the world's third best heavyweight.

He's tall, disciplined, organised and efficient in what he does. He beats Arreola, Valuev, Chagaev, Haye and Povetkin imo.

I'm hoping Odlanier Solis turns out to be good as I can't see anybody giving either Klitschko a decent fight for a long time to come.

But yeah Thomspon handles Arreola imo.

As good as Thompson is at times he does lack confidence. Cris Arreola hasn't slipped too far but he seems to be edging closer and closer to irrelevance.

I have high hopes for Povetkin and Solis, but I really think they will disappoint.

I think this fight pans out just like the Vitali/Arreola fight with maybe Chris surviving the full 12.

Wow, it's amazing that people view Arreola in such a negative way now when just a while ago people were positive he would beat Wladimir Klitschko and maybe beat Vitali (very few people thought that).

I just think it's a disgrace the way he comes in to fight at 250+ and 260+...he said "I always come to fight" but hell Butterbean always "came to fight" but nobody confused him with a professional boxer, he was just a Toughman winner and Cris is getting closer to being that. Right now Cris is wasting his life by fighting out of shape....you can be fat later just look at Tyson and Duran!

I don't know, I'm sure outside the USA nobody expected anything of him. He's just another Sam Peter type imo, maybe would have troubled Wlad a few years ago but not any more. I can see him being in some entertaining fights but against either Klitschko I don't expect anything.

Having said that there isn't a fighter on the horizon that I can see even forcing Vitali into second gear. He's probably the most dominant champion in any weight class imo, as he can't fight his brother.

Any fight that Vitali is in is for me just a routine 'turn up and knock them out in a rather dull way' type event.

I can't even see him being extended, let alone close to being beat.

Arreola would catch him at some point. Thompson ain't no Vitali. No way he can avoid Arreola all night. And I don't see him having the power to hurt him

I certainly hope Arreola doesn't read this thread. You KNOW he's kinda sentimental.

How about Arreola vs Sam Peter? One of them has to go. And arreola isn't gonna get too far till he stops "being hungry" late at night. Seriously every fighter goes through that but they cut weight because of his power. You're supposed to accomplish something before you get complacent with just your power, he hasn't accomplished anything yet, he is still a prospect, and he still hasn't disciplined himself even after a loss. He should consider it this way, if he wasn't such a big puncher there's a chance Minto could have beat him. And that's not a good sign. Arreola depends on his power for too long he is gonna wind up another Tua.

Agreed Arreola may catch Thompson, still Thompson is fare more seasoned. Thompson punches his way to a victory.

I agree with Violent D (that rhymed). I wonder if they'd need to reinenforce the ring if Arreola and Solis ever fought? Talk about sloppy. I think both guys could fight at 230 and yet both weigh over 260 for their fights!
