Default HBO looking to make Williams v Cintron and Berto v Malinaggi April 10th

Boxingtalk report this, what is it with Berto and LW's?? Forbes,Urango and now Malinaggi?

Not a bad card but saying that if we see anything but comfortable wins for Williams and Berto id be very suprised.

I'd love to see WIlliams open up the Cintron tear ducts; Kermit will be sobbing by 7th round Berto/Malinaggi no thanks.

Paulie- Berto sounds ok to me.. Who else do you want him to fight with Pac, Clotty, Mayweather, and Mosely all now fighing it looks like..

Maybe you could make a case for cotto having another go, but i suspect he will take a bit of time off...

Obviously the Collazo rematch which was one of the fights of the year in 2009.

Collazo was offered a rematch, but he demanded more than HBO were willing to put up for both fighters. Berto agreed to the deal, Collazo didn't so he's brought it on himself. I thought Berto just edged the first fight, I'd expect him to dominate a rematch.

I don't like Berto-Malignaggi though, Paulie is a powderpuff at 140 & Berto hits a lot harder than Hatton or a weight-drained Cotto.

I like a fight between Berto & Bradley if it could be made.

Williams vs Cintron is an interesting matchup.

I personally feel that Cintron won't be able to deal with the pace and pressure that Williams would apply. I expect Williams stopping Cintron on the ropes at somepoint in the later rounds.

Cintron does make this fight interesting with his power though. Cintron is a big puncher and Williams is easy to hit, Williams has showed a durable chin throughout his career but was dropped hard by Martinez who isn't a huge puncher like Cintron.

Berto vs Paulie is a joke of a fight. It would be like the Berto - Forbes fight.

Surely there is a better actually welterweight fight out there for Berto.

From Mosley to Paulie...does it get any more anti climatic than that This one has grab a pillow written all over it to me.......IF Cintron can box out and stay smart vs Williams as he did with Angulo he may make it interesting with Williams defensive lapses.....than again Angulo has the foot speed of a tortoise and Williams pure two fisted volume, size will keep Cintron in a shell early and catching much body work.

Am not to sure Cintron is a powerful guy but I think his power is some what overrated who has he stopped who is world class?

The best opponent he has knocked out is Matthysse.

I would say he has more pop than Martinez does.

    Cintron's a good puncher, i exaggerated it.

I think Cintron is actually more powerfull than Martinez but Martinez beats him in every other category. Berto vs Paullie is ridicoulous , Berto takes it easily, but Williams vs Cintron -- im cool with that

DiBella is saying that the Berto vs Malignaggi talk is very premature.

Berto vs Malignaggi Very Premature, Says DiBella - Boxing News

Honestly, I think this would be a pretty boring fight, and I don't think Berto would have anything to gain by fighting Malignaggi.

Good to hear really.Save for the chance of watching Paulie go into his best 'Real housewives of New Jersey' tirads,I see no excitement to be had.

I'll give it to Malignaggi that he'll fight anyone but Berto should stop him at some point. Malignaggi won't be able to deal with a guy faster than him, stronger in every category, and will pressure him like never before because Malignaggi's power will pose no deterance. Williams/Cintron will be better than expected. Williams has below average defense and doesn't use his reach. He is just coming off a war and Cintron will make contact with that chin several times because all Williams does is come forward looking to punch. Two things: Cintron better bring his conditioning and Williams better bring his chin.
