Default David Haye v Monte Barrett...

Now in the past I have defended Haye against Barrett when people said he was knocked down by Monte and I said it was deffo a slip, but I have just come across it again now and it was not a slip and Barrett had him down not in trouble but he was caught and went down, here is the clip go to 4.37, you can see he is caught sqaure his feet were not tangled or didnt give way it was a legit knockdown.

This ain't no hateing towards Haye just thought I would bring it up as I was certain it was a slip and I was wrong what do you think?

It was a knock down, but nothing too painful. Was more of a one handed face push than a punch.

I don't even think you can question Hayes chin because of that shot, they were both swinging wildly and one of them was going to go down as neither had any balance during those swings.

Been done to death already - it was a knock down in as much as haye got hit causing him to fall... but it's not like he got hit on the chin causing his legs to turn to jelly or knocking the consciousness out of him.. it was more 'knock over' than knock down, balance.

technically it could and should have been called as a knock down but any meaning you take from it is pretty negligible.

I'm sorry skel, but I can't discuss the fight in all seriousness. His ring entrance ruined any credibility he had. Never fails to make me laugh like a little girl.

Hahaha. Best ring entrance ever. This was a definite knockdown though.

Haye was deffinitly hurt. Look how long he stays on his knee for. If he wanted to make it look as though t was a slip and nothing more, hed have jumped up

I tell you wat I think he was shook up but I am pretty certain that was from the illegal blow.

To be fair he did get twatted whilst on the deck which was the reason for the prolonged knee.

To me it did show a lack of confidence in his chin, he was up at one point then went back down, someone thought it best he take all the recovery time available.

I disagree, I think it means a lot...if he can't keep his balance vs Monte Barrett how will he fair vs better boxers who move better than Monte does? The Klitschko's are very athletic fighters and if Monte Barrett can move a certain fighter into a position where he's off balance then all the easier for the Klitschko's.

You disagree re: David Haye/the Klits... there's a surprise.

let me rephrase... in terms of his chin at heavy it shows very little. it does show a tendency to rush in with sloppy balance but unlike a chin that's something that can be worked on and nobody was talking about his balance or temperament to begin with.

Oh yeah the dude's chin hasn't been truly tested at heavyweight because he's yet to fight a big puncher.

I was mainly stating its poor boxing form to be so off balance and its odd that such a talented boxer would put himself in that position.

He wasn't hurt at all by the punch that put him over and only went down due to been of balance; I think he was falling anyway but still that's sloppy in it's self. The shot on the floor did hurt him though.

Being one of the main people that has argued for this being called a knockdown I just want to say that never did I suggest Chicken Little was hurt by any punch other than the one Monte threw against him when he was already down. But as for the knockdown, it was legit and it SHOULD be very worrisome for any of his fans because he was waaaaaay off balance and he was put in that position by an inferior boxer and that does not bode well for ANY future fight much less a fight vs a Klitschko
