Who you got?
Who you got?
Before Evanders last farce of a fight i'd have gone with him, but to be fair he looked terrible and IMO did something I never thought I'd see him do and quit. I thought though that Evander had finally realised he was past it and couldn't keep this up. How wrong was I? He's back next week and I think he will lose to Nielsen, who is also no spring chicken but Evander is now completely shot and the more he fights the more he risks serious injury.
It's a shame too, Evander is a true legend and is my favourite HW ever. I think that if he had retired after the rematch with Lewis, people would now be talking about him in the same sentence as the likes of Muhammad Ali and Joe Louis. I don't usually like to say that legacies are damaged by a fighter carrying on too long but Evander has gone that far past his prime now that young fight fans will only remember this big name who never looked very good.
I dont think Evander quit. He was having a bad night and kept getting nutted. Perhaps that was justice for all the times he did it but I cant call him a quitter.
He should beat Neilson comfortably. He has more left than the Dane. After trhat a rematch with the guy who nutted him (whos name eludes me) and I reckon he takes that too. Its only world class fighters that beat Evander.
I do think he quit. He seemed to be rocked a couple of times by "Tank" Williams, which would have never happened even a couple of years ago and when he sat in the corner he said I can't see. I mean really! Could you imagine Evander getting a cut say in the Tyson fights and saying I can't carry on and I can't see? No chance IMO. He has never been a quitter and I really gave some thought about it before saying he had quit.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
It breaks my heart a bit more every time I see one of the greatest at his weight class refusing to admit he's no more the one he used to be and who keeps going in a path of mediocrity and potential danger for his health.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
let that bible-thumpin stubborn ol' mule give it another go. i hear he's in debt, too.
I actually think Nielsen will win. I remember the Tyson fight and he took some big shots and took them well, he has a good activity level in fights too and I reckon he will bully Holyfield back and throw those sloppy combinations and just outwork him.
They are about the same level now so it will be an interesting fight if it is free to watch.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I'm sticking with Holyfield but the fight is dogshit, just like PAC vs mosley.
Evander is going to fight until he can no longer get licensed. Sad but true.
He already has done alot of long-term damage to himself.
Yes captain and it's not crazy it just means he would die for the sport he loves!
Same as Roy and Bernard!
Like Bernard said " planting daisies and gardening is boring" after the pavlik fight
Evander definitely quit in the Williams fight and was about a minute away from getting stopped. But there should be no discussion about the winner here. Nielsen has not fought for over 8 years and only ever had a good chin going for him but after so long out even that must surely have abandoned him by now.
I think Holyfield, as washed up as he is, stops the fat, unfit Dane within 3 rounds.
Anything could happen but most likely scenarios are:
Holy gets injured, a shoulder pull or something;
There is a NC or DQ for something;
There is chaos/something bizarre like another parachute;
Nielsen or Holy get KO'ed in the 1st round.
Anyone know who won the fight?
