Default Fights you found unpleasant to watch

Now I love toe to toe action and knockouts as much as the next person, but every so often a fight comes up that has me feeling a little off putted by what's going on.

Either because someone is getting beaten up too badly, or the fight is a total mismatch. I think the most I've ever been disturbed by a fight was Vitali Klitschko vs Shannon Briggs. Shannon immediately had no chance and his corner would not pull him out. I was disturbed how Vitali kept on wailing on him even in the later rounds, as was his right but I remember wishing him to just carry Shannon until the end.

I also can't stand to watch Gerry Cooney's knockout of Ken Norton, I swear to god Cooney punched with the force of a speeding motorcycle.

Are there any fights that disturbed you guys and maybe made you question why you watch boxing?

Roberto Duran brutalising Davey Moore was very hard to watch.

Shannons Briggs vs Liakovich was very unpleasant, hardly under the same circumstances of course. It just struck me that one fight alone may well have been the reason Briggs' corner didn't pull him out against Vitali though Agreed on that one btw, it was just depressing to watch.

I remember a while after that fight, Shannon Briggs and fat twit Dan Rafael got into some kind of cyber flame war, and Rafael said something along the lines of I wish you had gone 3 more rounds with Vitali. I found that really cringeworthy, coming from a morbidly obese cunt who makes his living off the sport doing fuck all. I'd like to see him go 1 round with a heavy bag, the imbecile.

I think Ali vs Holmes has to take this cake, you could see Ali shaking in the corner between rounds. Mustve been truly sad for anyone who watched it live.

Ray Leonard against Terry Norris was another one that nobody had to see.

I don't know how anyone let Ali fight Holmes. That was not boxing, no sweet science there. That was people's perverse lust for seeing a great man plummet to the ground.

Cant believe I forgot Ali/Holmes. I was horrified and wanted to literally kill King.

Ali V Holmes should never have happened.

Roy Jones jr V Danny Green should never have happened.

Mike Tyson v Lennox Lewis should never have happened.

DLH V Pacman happened, but it was sure hard to watch the once great DLH become a punching bag for the Pacman.

Mayorga vs. Oscar sucked big time....

In recent years I've found it sad to watch Vivian Harris get KO'd time and time again by every up coming prospect he met.

Rahman's non effort fat slob showing against Povetkin was also depressing.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Seeing Gatti getting smacked around by Mayweather is entertaining but I find it slightly hard to watch now.

The referee was irresponsible and should have stopped the Briggs-Klitschko fight by the 9th round.

Another one like that was the Vitali-Adamek fight. Adamek was too brave to quit, and for round after round he took a one-sided beating. Thankfully the referee in that one was more responsible and eventually did stop it.

    All of this is true.

Holmes vs Ali was the worst though ... at least the others could fight back, Ali hardly even fought back and was just being pounded in the corner.

People were actually pretty pissed at Holmes after that ... I remember he even once recalled a woman tell him that she hated him because he "beat Ali."

Briggs vs Klitschko was disgraceful ... Vitali kept going for the KO of the defenseless Briggs ... and the Klitschko's are called "gentlemanly" by their delusional fans. Vitali has had a history of poor sportsmanship ... Corrie Sanders (RIP) pointed this out too

Liakhovich/Briggs was difficult for other reasons. What was the total punch count 20?
