Default Amir Khan - all quiet ??

Right he's scheduled to fight early December - just 8 weeks away.

But has anyone heard any rumours re a possible opponent ? I've just googled for news and there'e very little out there - not even speculation.

Khan has not been that active the last couple of years for a guy in his prime. I have read however he could now be a difficult sell in USA and there's concerns he could suffer because of islamophobia and current tensions ??

    Anyone ??

    According to the paper
"Amir Khan is ready to audition for a superfight with Floyd Mayweather next year - by taking on Robert Guerrero in New York on December 6"

I wouldn't worry about the American market because he can make a shit load of money off the UK fans, even if he fights in the States.

Boxing fans will tune in especially to chinny fighters.

I don't think Khan is real popular in the US, but if he is fighting any respectable N. American fighter, which Guerrero is, there will some genuine interest.
Guerrero isn't a big puncher but is a tough never say die fighter, I would like to see it. I think Guerrero would have plenty of trouble with Khan's speed and movement.
    Would be an interesting fight.

Despite what you may think we here in the US don't pay much attention to anyone's religion when they are acting normal. Yes we have a fringe as evidence by Denilson who leave logic aside in certain cases but if an athlete is good that's what we look at. A lot of American football players are Islamic and they enjoy adoration from fans. Never in my boxing talk with buddies has Khans religion come up other than how he might train during Ramadan. Khan is liked for his hand speed and we like to watch him for that glass chin.

That article makes a good point. If Khan did wear his religion on his sleeve it might turn some people off but even so if he's not shouting death to America it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

I personally don't think Khan would give Floyd much of a problem but I understand the mind set that he could. We want to see good fights, we don't particularly care if it's a Hindu, Jew, Catholic or Zoroastrian.

All quiet and deserves to be quiet, on the Brit side we now have Kell as the top man, on the US side he has whatever he can hoover up with hype and bullshit, forget him, had his chances and wasted them, let the more deserving others get it on.

He is rumored to be facing Robert Guerrero. He has a contract with Showtime so I imagine there is a good shot of this fight taking place. It's not a bad fight, frankly.

Guerrero would be a good fight for Khan, that would be good stepping stone to take on Brooks and Thurman not Floyd but I am sure Khan will try.

Why is khan not popular in the states he is an exciting fighter.

    Must be the muslim issue.

Khan needs to really put on a show in the next fight and prove he belongs at 147
